Fail for Nail!

Jackets actually get screwed on this. The click paused at 1.8 seconds long enough for the puck to cross the line at 0.4 seconds. Had the clock kept running, the puck would have crossed the line with 0.0 on the clock.

The CBJ got screwed, badly.

Fail for Nail? With how he's played recently, the CBJ would be better off with Murray, Ebert, or Grigorenko

The Blue Jackets are a joke. Plain and simple, top to bottom, one of the worst pro sports franchises in the four major sports. They're so far and away the worst team in the league this year it's not even close. They'll have the worst record wrapped up by the end of February.

I've been a fan since their inception, but it's not worth my time to follow them or invest any emotion into the franchise when it's very clear they're horribly broken and no one cares to make any smart moves to fix it.

LOL. Funny thing is, I've been to six games this year, and they've only lost 1 of them. Maybe the team should pay me to travel with them?!?

You've seen over a quarter of their wins, congratulations :)

They need to clean house. The roster needs a fresh start. No one is untouchable. And the players that have been around a while (Nash) definitely need to go.

It's hard to "clean house" if your team is playing this badly with the guys you'll need to use as bait for better players to bring in and "fix" the problems. It would appear that this franchise is either headed out of Columbus or out of hockey altogether. On the ice, it has already "left the building" and doesn't appear to be anywhere remotely close to even being semi-competitive in the near (or far) future. :(

Blue Jacket fans - What would you want in return for Nash?

Clean house? 90% of their roster nobody wants...they either A) suck, B) are overpaid, C) both...

You going to throw in 2 1st rounders along with that? If not you can GTFO with that offer.

Since he's only 27 my first thought is yes but after looking at his stats, he's never had a season over 70 points and only 2 with 40 goals or more (40 and 41) so i'd give 1 first rounder in the hopes that him playing for a cup contender fired him up

Yeah you're right, Thomas and 1 shitty low first round pick is the answer to our prayers. /sarcasm.

you know you win games by not letting in goals right? Their goal differential is -55. You know what team has let in more goals than Columbus? the answer is none. Steve Mason blows.

Problem is, Thomas is 37. If we were talking 33- or 34-year-old Thomas, I'd be more inclined to pull the trigger on that trade. But at 37 he has what, 2 good years left? If we're trading Nash, we're looking for a long-term piece in return, not a rent-a-goalie who can win a few additional games while we continue to miss the playoffs in "rebuild" mode.

Also, yes, Mason blows. The defense blows too. Thomas w/o a defense in front of him will not be the same Thomas we see in Boston w/ Chara et al. Better than Mason, no doubt, but not the same.

What about Rask and a 1st or 2nd rounder?

I'd think about Rask and a first rounder. Immediate upgrade at goaltender, free up some cash to spend on real players/real depth.

I feel like rask and 2nd for nash would be fair - if you look at Nashs' numbers alone, a solid young goalie with playoff experience and a first rounded seems steep.

Yeah...probably right. I think a lot of people look at his performance in international tournaments and assume he's a much better player than he's let on in the NHL, mainly because he's playing with a bunch of minor leaguers. So that clouds judgement. But on face, his numbers probably don't call for a #1 G and a first rounder.
