When the guy you are counting on to be your ace is coming off of Tommy John, you know you are not very good. It's tough for me to believe that these guys actually have a plan other than keeping the team solvent by paying its players the league minimum. When the principal player you got for trading a moderately priced Cy Young winner, is a single A guy with a sore arm.,,,you know it is strictly a salary dump, with no good baseball sense or reasoning.

eh, the starting rotation will be rocky. I think Rondon could be a stud, but you can't count on a guy that young to shoulder a big load. I also hope Westbrook and Carmona bounce back.

I do think our offense will be very good this year though. I'm thinking 800+ runs. Sadly, we'll give up more than we score.

Sigh. It's going to be very hard to get excited at the beginning of next season, similar to the start of the Browns season this year. For the last few years my Dad has contemplated renewing our season tickets and I always have to talk him into it. This year it was the other way around. I'll still go because it's the Tribe, but it's likely going to be painful.

Son Hits was instrumental in getting me to renew. He told me,

"Remember when I was little? We used to go to the games all the time and they really sucked! It's still baseball."

So I renewed...and have buyer's remorse;)

I see no reason to believe they will when more than 69 games next season.

Signing Omar would be very popular with the fanbase, but he is 42. I'm not sure how I feel about this.

If they do sign Omar it is only to try and get some fans to show up.

Omar can still use the glove but I do not see him doing much with the stick.

Best part of the article:
“I don’t care if your name is Fausto or Zausto, if you’re not missing bats, you better not be walking anyone.”—Manager Manny Acta, on the importance of pitchers throwing strikes.
The Indians should look into this Zausto fellow

"I see no reason to believe they will when more than 69 games next season. "

I don't see much more unless Westy is all the way back, and Carmona returns to '07 form. Much too many ????on the starting pitching staff.
If someone wouldn't have been so cheap as to not trade a moderately priced, former Cy Young pitcher, I'd have been optimistic that under the right circumstances we might have had a run. We got NOTHING in return.

I'd love to see Omar back.

I'm saying they'll be 121-41. That is, if I'm giving myself a 60-game margin for error.

I think signing Omar would be a good move. As a utility infielder all we really need him to do is field, which he can still do for a very affordable price. Plus he can be a good mentor to Cabrera and Valbuena.

^^^^I agree with that 100%. All the stuff we've been yappin' about he has addressed. If he can bring it to the field, there may be some chance down the road, if the talent is there. I'd be a whole lot more optimistic if the salary dump would have brought us some near ready players instead of sore armed single A pitchers.
