Are you serious with this? A 2-5 football team running the score up on someone? Newsflash your team is NO better than ours! New coaching staff same old crappy team in Wooster!

We know Wooster can put a bunch of points on the board (averaging almost 31 ppg, compared to Orrville's 14 ppg..but only 6.5 ppg in the OCC)....and I said it would be interesting to see "IF" they would run it up, "IF" given the chance.

I didn't say it was going to happen. If the Generals had any resemblance of a defense, I would predict a win over the Riders this year. New coaching staff with a majority of the same kids back who learned under the previous regime also.

Besides....do you remember you already predicted a 3 score loss to Wooster already. So I don't understand why you're so fired up by me asking an honest question.

I think it's a fair statement that coach is in love with athletes. They're just not yet football players. They're the reason you're putting up 30+ ppg, and also the reason your secondary gets torched. Very undisciplined bunch. Tackling is atrocious. And the D Line..ugh. You can't worry about hurting feelings. There is one kid playing his butt off and a couple others who look like they're taking dance classes. Play the sophomores. I think they're both healthy.

And all that said, this team is still head and shoulders better than Orrville. I've seen Orrville play. They look like someone's freshman squad that left a bus full of kids back at the school. Lacking athleticism and size is usually a bad recipe. I'd rather have the problem of figuring out headcase athletes than not having any athletes in the system.

The one sophmore that was worth starting just got cleared this week needs a little time but he looked good against lex in jv game may get time friday night if he feels ok. there are also a couple of juniors that actually got some time last year they should try out also.

I agree and anyone from Wooster who is predicting anything in this game is nuts escpecially this year because neither team is worth bragging about this go around.

There are a couple stud sophomores in the system. Below that. Yikes. Reminds me of Wooster's freshman class. About three players and a bunch of warm bodies. It all goes in cycles, I guess. Right now Orrville is 0 for junior high. Neither class has gotten a "W" and probably won't. The freshman have fared better. There just aren't many athletes down there in the system. Would like to say the first half of that game last night was the worst of the year. After the eighth game of the year we still cant line up right, still turning ball over and if the other team dose'nt give up big play we are done. Only targeted tight end once, only targeted weak side receiver once. Ran the ball from twenty to twenty than nothing but mental screw ups. Second half defense played well but offense was bad from players to some of play calls. Still not very impressed with offensive coordinator yet. Seems if we dont hit big play he doesnt have anything after we get inside 35 yard line, sad. Looked like Haas tried to change things up on D last night played a few more young kids but the whole team looked like they were sleep walking in first half. This group of seniors better pick up the intensity or they will not win either one of thier last two games especially if Orrvilles defense plays as well as they did last night. I know we needed a change in the program and i hope everyone stays patient with the new coach but i feel very bad for the seniors and juniors on this team because it looks like it is going to take a long time to get this ship straighted out if it ever can be. Pretty disappointing. It doesn't seem this team has gotten any better since week one. The turnovers and mental mistakes are just outrageous. It's like backyard football at its worst.

what is the most disappointing thing about Wooster game friday was that at least of our so called athletes came off the the field said at leat "I" had a good game so I'm ok. This is the same stuff that was going on last year and here is the problem with this program. Haas has a lot of work to do if he plans on changing this attitude. Problem is the kid is one of the stars on team and nothing will be done about it. Last year Mccreary kicked him off team for this attitude and look what that got him.

Was at Jv game Saturday. Very disturbing listening to some of the so called Wooster faithful. This team had not lost a game in over a year. Now I know it is JV but a pretty good record no matter what level. All i heard was how bad a job the coaches did, really? We lost by 2 points and I thought the kids played hard. Yes they made mistakes but wow two losses over two seasons not bad in my judgment. By the way if your kid is getting yelled at by the coaches during the game they might actually deserve it and please stop taking it personal those guys are just trying to make them better players. This is what is wrong in Wooster now, not enough tough love. By the sounds of it , this may be an issue in a lot of area teams these days.

I think someone on another thread phrased it well when they said it is when the coaches stop yelling at you that you know you have a problem, that means they have given up. Consistency obviously has been the issue with Wooster this year. Need to put together 4 quarters not 2. I think the coaching staff is doing as well as can be expected in the first year. Credit needs to be given to Mans Sr. The coach over there seems to be really making a difference for those boys and I hope they go far in post season, they deserve it.

I think some of the "I" stuff in the program is coming from the fact coaches are telling kids to not worry about their record - worry about improving as an individual. It's the kids' defense mechanism to the losing. I don't think anybody likes losing and kids react differently. And I do hope that this has been a valuable learning year for coach. He now knows what he has and hopefully has a plan to take it to the next level.

The persistent problem I see, though, is a continuing lack of toughness. Whether it be on the field or mom calling coach to gripe about something. At some point Coach Haas has to tell these kids to grow a pair, and for parents to shut up. It's his team. Only worry there is will the AD support him. The more I hear about the AD, the less impressed I am.

My high point for Woo football this week was seeing Juice Massaro and the 8th grade squad's fight. Woo's big center/team captain got drilled in the back by an Ashland kid way after the whistle. He was the only kid I saw block anybody the whole game, so half of me wonders if it wasn't planned. He got up and the kid then takes a jab at him. After that, it looked like Ali-Frazier. It was on. Good for him. Fists were flying. Bring him up to dress with the varsity squad next week as a reward! They've had two ejections in three weeks. I've got no problem with that at all. Of course, the head coach was yelling at the kid "why didn't you just take the 15 yards on the late hit?!". jeez.. And I didn't see one kid come to their captain's defense. I've got a problem with that. We wonder what's wrong on Friday nights..sissies are being created much earlier in the program. At least I saw Juice give the kid a big hug on the sidelines after he got him calmed down. I'm sure he won't be invited back to coach next year.

No the I stuff is what the problem is with this gruop of senior athletes not all mind you but a few. This attitude is the problem we never have a TEAM attitude and if you listen close there are a lot of parents telling kids not to worry about the team worry about yourself. We have parents going to press box trying to tell coaches how to coach and parents calling AD about playing time. This attitude gets sent down to the kids and this is what happens.

As far as the fight at 8th grade game not cool when kids get ejected, agree we need to be more agressive footbal players but there is a fine line between agressive and stupid and it sounds like we crossed it a couple of times.

Really tired of this being a senior issue! Really! I do agree about the senior who was kicked off the team last year, but he seems to be Wicks hero. That I don't understand. But I think this senior class wants to win just like all the other players. They just need better play calls, plus it has to be frustrating watching 1 player being coddled. Just my opinion! I hope we can have a good showing at West Holmes

More than one player being coddled on team. It has to be a senior thing on this particular team because there are almost twenty of them, and most of them are the ones on the field, as they should be if they are good enough. They set the tone and seems to me as if only about five of them have bought into the system sorry if your son is one of these seniors but this is just my opinion. Agree about play calling he definitely needs to do a better job especially inside the 35 yard line. It is not the offense it is the defense that is the issue just like last year.

Not an issue with having a senior player, just hard as a fan, it seems like the senior players are the ones being blamed. I think we all thought Haas would be better for the program and I'm not so sure, Wick is just terrible and needs to go. My opinion is that the coaching staff is poor, the boys aren't perfect, but they aren't calling plays. Some seem confused by what Haas is doing on D! They are all good players and Wooster is better than this

Oh i agree it has been rough with the change in coaches. There are way more turnovers than i have ever seen from a Wooster team. A lot of this has to do with young quarterback and new system. I think I told everyone last year when they ran Mccreary out of town to be carefull what you ask for. Not saying the change wont be good in the long run but if anyone from Wooster thought this group would go from 4-6 to a playoff team were very wrong. To change a program like we did it will take a couple years to get averyone on the same page. The worst thing about that is the seniors and juniors are the ones that are going to suffer the most. 90% of this team are the same starters as last year the only difference are QB and a break away threat at running back so the talent is roughly the same as last and the results are also. Feel bad for those seniors going out but hopefully this year will be a learning experience for the program and the new coach and Wooster will come out better off in the long run.

These seniors need to realize that while it has been another long, tough year to play through, they still have a chance to beat Orrville. That usually turns a losing season, into a not so disappointing season. Here's hoping we can give the Knights a much better game then they are expecting. Go Woo!

You are right Rolly if they can beat orrville it will definitely take some of the sting out of a tough year. I hope these kids come out and play their hearts out the last two games if they do that will certainly show us something about them and the new coach.

Beating a 1-7 Orrville team when you are 2 divisions higher then us should do Nothing to turn around a losing season. You should beat Orrville! if that's what you are banking your season on at this point then your football program should FOLD! That would be like Orrville saying if we could just beat Rittman everything would be fine! NOPE!!!
