Has this been out lately? It's impossible to find on the Dispatch's website. If anyone can post the poll or at least a link to it I'd appreciate it!

This kills me - Young from Whitehall at 170? I don't think he's wrestled 170 all year - he was at the Cruiser Invitational and wrestled 160 with a record of 7-3. Nothing against him specifically, but how can someone who's only wrestled 10 matches be ranked at a weight he doesn't wrestle at?

It is what it is. Many of us just read it for the comedic aspect.1prouddad;1069259 wrote:This kills me - Young from Whitehall at 170? I have to defend myself a little bit here. The rankings, team and individual, have been sent into the Dispatch every week. I am not sure why they are not always published. I also send them out to every coach to get input every week. Sometimes there are changes, other times not. For the most part they are just opinions since a lot of head to head matchups have not occurred.
The rankings that matter now are the sectional seeds which can start to be discussed after the team draw meeting this afternoon.

Sorry huntergreen - my frustration was more with the Dispatch than you. True - I'm not sure how this far into the season kids are ranked at weights they don't wrestle at, but I guess I honestly am not sure exactly how it works- if its up to all the coaches to give updates then like you said it is what it is.
My frustration with the Dispatch is shared by plenty of other wrestling fans - as you can see in the other threads. Just as someone in another thread suggested - since the Dispatch would rather publish girls bowling results than wrestling polls each week, can you post the D2 poll each week here in OC at the same time you send it into the Dispatch? It would be greatly appreciated.
I do agree with what you say about the poll and the sectional seeds, but some of us look forward to seeing the poll and movement in it as the season progresses.
Thanks for doing what you do - I'm sure it's something you do voluntarily and we do appreciate it.

1prouddad I dont understand any of these rankings. Wogan pinned Sowry (UA) the #3 D-1 170 at CTI. Huntergreen26 is truly a very good coach and good man. Maybe it was an oversight. I wouldnt worry Wogan is peaking at the right time! Good luck!

Sid - thanks for the praise- please don't get me wrong - I'm not lobbying for my own son to get ranked - nothing wrong with coming in "under the radar" so to speak - I was just wondering how some of the rankings work and how kids are getting ranked in weight classes they aren't competing in. I'm familiar with 170 because I follow it so closely. I should have phrased my comment a little less aggressively than, "this kills me".Sid;1069951 wrote:1prouddad I dont understand any of these rankings. Wogan pinned Sowry (UA) the #3 D-1 170 at CTI. I agree with you that huntergreen is a good guy too- and the ranking thing isn't just him - as he said - he looks for updates from the rest of the coaches and if there aren't any updates, things remain the same.
My son had a tough opening tourney at Olentangy - he got hurt in his second match and probably should have dropped out, but tried to wrestle though and ended up with 4 losses on the day - this killed his record, but it is what it is and he may remain unranked - that's fine - as you say he is peaking at the right time and when sectionals roll around it's what he does on the mat that makes a difference not if he's ranked or not.
Thanks again for your praise!

I was very impressed with River Valley. We had 3 forfeits due to injuries and lost by 11. The Delgadillo, Workman match was awesome also. Workman won 8-7. The Jay, Crabtree match was exciting also. Nice win coach McGuire!
