I'm not going to lie, I think I may actually have the breathing thing figured out.

It's either a cheap supplement I am taking or anxiety.

Sports officiating sounds like a great way to deal with that...

True. I'm taking a cheap (and I'm not proud to say it) OTC supplement, green tea fat burning thing. Read the box yesterday (and I've been taking this for quite some time) if you're experiencing shortness of breath and liver problems, stop taking. Just had free blood-tests through work the other day, and my liver enzymes were high. Hurp-derp on my part.

One other symptom that I'm having is a swelling of the throat, fullness of chest. This, coupled with breathlessness, is a common symptom of anxiety, however I rarely experience any of the other symptoms. Honestly, the only thing that I ever really worry about is not being able to breath the way a normal human being should.

I admitted the hurp-derp. I started taking it two years ago when I packed on some pounds and was a full-blown drunk. I quit drinking for a year, dieted, and took that supplement. I dropped 25 lbs. in about a month, so I told myself that shitty supplemental pill was part of the reason.

Back to my epic "shortness of breath after drinking thread" ... if it IS anxiety, it makes a little more sense. Alcohol can trigger heightened anxiety.

So you usually ingest into your body without reading the box.
