You said he's not, implying that someone said he is, so therein lies the basis for a debate. But, if you say he's not, then what's left to discuss? btw, out of curiosity, let me know what Seth Davis tweets

You lost me there lol

All you have to say is "I wouldn't take any other PG over Craft for this team, but he's not the best PG in the country. There is no debate."

I wouldn't take any other PG over Craft for this team. Period. (and, IMO, he's the best perimeter on ball defender in the country!)

No but in all seriousness, if OSU had Burke coming off the bench he wouldn't be putting up 1.8 ppg. He'd be somewhere in the 6-8 ppg and getting more than 8 mpg. You don't just let talent rot on the bench. Hell Thomas Robinson was behind the Morrii twins, and he was able to get more than 1.8 ppg.
As usual, we can agree to disagree. Burke wouldn't be getting enough minutes to score that much. Especially when you have the other scorers this team has. Its not needed with this team.
And again, I have no idea why we are even discussing this. Burke is where he is. He was NOT highly recruited. He committed to PSU his soph year. Then changed his senior year to UM. UC was in the picture as well. Scott was a McDonalds All American who committed to OSU. The guy is going to be good IMO. Who knows what he could be doing if he were elsewhere playing many minutes. Unfortunately for him, he is a backup right now.
Sullinger ole man even said as much in the paper today:
"If he had come to OSU, his role and expectations would have been different. Trey is exactly where he needs to be. He's in a great place".

Really? Williams, Scott are McDonalds All Americans. Ross was once rated the #1 player in the country in HS. All three are pretty damn good players and aren't getting much time. And its pretty obvious why, because the players in front of them, are better.

Josh Selby was the #1 recruit in the country, and he sucked ass.

Just because you're a highly ranked recruit doesn't mean you're worth a damn. Gotta prove it.

You're really gonna say they're good players? Good players don't get <10 mpg. Now, if you say they are going to be good players, just aren't ready yet; I could agree to that. But come on, this isn't the 70s. Good players play, no matter what year they are.

Craft is good and I glad we have him, but I wouldn't call him the best PG in the country. I think that is when some bias set in because there are so darn good ones out there.

It all depends on the situation u are in. You think Williams is going to play major minutes with Sullinger? You think Ross is going to take minutes from Buford? Or Scott from Craft? Nada. No shit sherlock, they may not be ready, but again, if they were in situation like Burke is, they would be playing. As I said, if Morris hadn't left UM, Burke would be getting few minutes there. He walked into the right situation for him.
Those three(OSU) are pretty good btw, and would be playing major minutes at many other programs.
Shelby sucked...but Self played him? I agree, he didn't live up to the billing. But I think that had more to do with what was above his shoulders. Not his ability.

Matta didn't fuck up. He had 2 PG already. There was NO need to recruit another. What don't you understand?

It's a cop out...Clearly Matta missed on Burke's evaluation and I'd say even on Scott's evaluation and would take Burke looking back at it..you can have 3 viable PGs on a team you know lol
OK people would you rather have Burke at the point over Craft ? And to add; what game are some of you watching that would make you take any number of point guards over Craft? Watch closely how he disrupts the oppositions offense.

That is something many don't understand. On top of that, he RARELY gets beat. Which means the other 4 defenders can play their man honest without worrying about helping out. Its not just his steals that make a difference. Craft defense does so much for OSU than most realize.

Again, you're making excuses for Scott. I already mentioned Thomas Robinson last year playing behind 2 all americans and lottery picks. But he still received PT. Point is, you make minutes for good players, even if they're behind studs. It's not like Buford and Craft are THATTTTT good where they should get NO time on the bench.

It's Selby. And yes Self played him, he's not dumb--you wouldn't get another top recruit if you sat him on the bench all year lol

Oh I totally agree. I think it would be nice to have a PG who looks to score sometimes, but I guess that's not what Matta thinks.

And I think the last time I saw Seth Davis say that about Craft was about 2 weeks ago, so I would be interested to see what he thinks now.

Not excuses. Makes perfect sense, and you know it. Its all about situations and opportunities. Do you really think Burke would have been playing over Morris had Morris returned?

Never get a top recruit by sitting them? What kind of fucking ridiculous comment is that? Comical. I guess you never check the bench at places like UNC, Duke, UConn, UK, KU, 'Cuse and OSU. Hell, Matta sat guys like Mullens and Cook! NBA players. Yet still gets recruits. He is basically sitting 3 studs right now as well. Wow...

FYI.

Craft is a Cousy finalist. As Burke is as well.

The lack of knowledge some of you show is astounding. Saying Matta screwed up by not offering Burke is ridiculous. Know the story before you make fools of yourselves.

Im not necessarily saying he screwed up. More that it'd be ridiculous to think he doesn't regret not taking on Burke
