I just learned about this today...it's definitely NSFW if you start watching some of videos...
Budd Dwyer died 25 years ago today. Budd was the Treasurer for Pennsylvania until he took his own life.
It's a shame...some sleazebag came out later on recanting everything he said that actually made Budd "guilty" in the courts. I just couldn't imagine being there that day. I found one of the videos, I really shouldn't have watched it. It's pretty gut-wrenching.

I watched it. I don't see what the big deal is, the guy blew his head off and blood flowed like a water fountain out of his nose. The guy wasn't a real man. Take the punishment, not the easy way out. And if you are innocent, let the system work.

Fab4 here is how I see it, first it is 25 yrs old. It was broadcast live on TV then and it was replayed then too on the evening news broadcasts by some even without warnings. Just watch it. Its not hard to find either.

I watched it without the sound on and it wasn't that bad. Lotsa blood, but I've probably seen worse. Might watch it with sound once my show is over.

First time I've heard of this. Did he kill himself in public to prove a point? I dont get why he was having a press conference if he was convicted.

Yes he was convicted but he was innocent and he was going to be sent to prison so he killed himself on TV to yes prove a point I believe. However that point went unserved!
