Devils take on Temple tonight at Temple.

Interested to see how the new look Devils play against someone that doesn't have a direction in front of their school name.

Since Quinn Cook has gotten more PT, the Devils have raced out to early leads, have turned the ball over less, and have had more productive nights from the field and have rebounded the hell out of the ball.

Thank God, after watching Seth Curry get abused as a primary ball handler and on the defensive end, it was only a matter of time before K made a dramatic change to the rotation and style of the team. The pace also definitely caters to the games of Rivers, Plum 1, and Plum 2. Mason Plumlee is not a back to the basket player, neither is his brother, but bot are now more efficient facing up and scoring on the break.

Always felt this team would be more viable with a true PG like Thornton or Cook starting, took some time but they are showing flashes of what many thought they would be capable of. Shame it took a shellacking at OSU for them to alter the style of play.

Temple will be a jump up from recent competition but defends the three point line very well. Should be a good contest.

Duke on the ropes as expected. Temple spreading the floor and taking the duke guards one on one to the rack. May need to implement the seldom used 2-3 zone before the night is over.

He's a liability for sure. Won't be handling the ball much longer. Not upset about this loss at all. Pretty much expect a team to spread the ball and drive 1v1 against Duke. Villa nova did the same thing in 2009, w much better players. We all know how that ended.

Except for those 26 games Irving didn't play in, including all of conference play.

Duke isn't that good. They're a 3-4 seed, but I wouldn't expect anything past Sweet 16.

Duke is getting better every game I think. Quinn Cook needs experience running the show, Curry needs to adjust to moving without the ball and being more than a catch and shoot player, Dawkins needs to learn to create offense for himself, and Miles Plumlee needs to work on his free-throws.
Cook will be running the show by end of season I imagine, so Rivers will have to adjust to working within an offense and finding the right opportunity to create. Little by little each player is progressing in this area. The only player I see not improving is Ryan Kelly. He has struggled to find where he belongs in the offense and defensively for that matter.

This was a true road game and Duke lost. Don't see what the harm is. Every year Duke loses to an out of conference opponent on their home floor. Usually it is St.Johns or Georgetown. This year it was Temple. The elite teams are so young that any true road OOC game against a non-midmajor would be a test.

Hell Syracuse struggled to fend of NC State at RBC.

Personally I feel this was a meaningless loss because we all know Duke isn't going to run the table the rest of the way. Keep getting better and prepare for a tournament run in March. Seth will find his new role, the Plumlees will adjust to the tempo, and the guy on the sidelines will get the most out of his team. He's been doing it for 30 years no reason he won't this year.

Was referring to the scheduled out of conf. road game to a school in the Northeast (Garden, DC, Philly)
The Buckeye game was part of the ACC/B10 challenge. Not a game sought out by the Duke staff to play in front of alums in the area.

The OSU game was def a whipping, no doubting that.

I can't tell if your serious or not. But I was being sarcastic. Some of the Duke fans on that OSU-Duke thread were just hysterical.

Thursday night Duke hosts UVA. Bennett's squad is going to slow the game down, extend possessions, and let Mike Scott take defenders one on one when the shot clock runs down.

Duke still hasn't shown the ability to defend the ball, well to be fair when Plumlees and Kelly are on the floor Temple and GaTech both just rotated them to the top, then took them apart in isolation. Still, the defense hasn't created many turnovers and hasn't forced many bad shots since Maui.

Devils haven't lost at home in 30+ games. I think the streak may be the longest in the country. Gonna be put in jeopardy by UVA I imagine.
