I watched a documentary recently about the ancient indian tribes of the Myan(sp) and they made a calender that is ending in less than a year that predicts a worldwide catastrophy that will end life on the planet as we as know it. It coorelates with the stars and sun energy. Has anyone heard about this?!

They made a movie about it with john cusack a few years ago called 2012. I just didnt realise it was based on some truth?

You're misunderstanding the myan myth. They never predicted the end of the world in a catastrophe, that's just how far their calendar went. I blame the history channel and media for the over hype.

Also, there is going to be some significant flaring from our sun. It's going to cause some problems around that time, experts predict. Certainly not anything that would cause the world to end though.

I don't think it will. I saw a documentary on what the world will probably look like long into the future so I tend to believe that over the Mayans.
