I thought this response summed it up the best:
Hold on...Let me get this straight. You ask why are people so down on the Browns. Then you correctly point out that they have lost 11 games in a row, their receivers suck, their QB "could be much worse", their TE is Ben Watson, their defense is 22nd in the league, and their coaches are terrible. Well, call me crazy, but that's a pretty well-rounded views of why the Browns suck.

I'm not a big Grossi fan, but the stats don't lie.....build the offense around Richardson!
I agree with this completely. Weeden's numbers wouldn't be nearly as bad if they could work off of play action. On the 3rd & 1 where he threw the pick, yes...very bad throw but EVERYONE in the stadium knew they were passing. Have to keep defenses honest.

T-Rich needs at least 30 touches per game. He needs to be the focal point of this offense. I'd rather see Weeden manage some games and surprise them with down the field plays periodically versus making it the staple of their offense. Not a winning formula.

Another stat I read recently which was kind of surprising, yet not really considering who the coach is, but of the 9 picks Weeden has thrown, Richardson has only been on the field for ONE of them. No threat of play action. Teams know they aren't handing the ball off to Oby, since they don't, so the formation screams "pass." Weeden still has to make the plays but the head coach isn't putting this team in "winning situations."

EXACTLY....that is what cracks me up when Shurmur says in press conferences we can run it or pass it when OBY is in the game....BUT they NEVER have Oby run the ball, it's always screen passes and check downs.

Just heard an interesting stat, Weeden has thrown the 2nd most passes in the league. Only behind Brees. When Faildy Dalton throws 40 or more passes the bengals are 0-4.

He also leads the rookies (duh) by almost 30 more passes thrown for the season. Can't do that with a rookie, ANY rookie, and expect to win.

When Roethlisberger was a rookie I think they kept him in the 16-18 passes per game area. I'd like to see a little more than that from Weeden but to average 40 passes per game, as a rook, is ridiculous.

There's a reason Richardson was drafted...USE him!

Luck is attempting 44.25 passes per game and the Colts already matched last season's win total.

It's way too much for Weeden to be throwing, but it's hardly the biggest problem on the team right now.

It's refreshing to see reposts on the OBR from Steelers message boards to see their fans in full meltdown mode...

What I find funny is that they are so used to being in the mix for the Super Bowl that it's assumed by their "fan" base that it's a given they will be there
again.

The James Harrsion of today is a shell of the Harrison that returned that INT for a TD in the Super Bowl against the Cards. Polamalu is a
fragile "china doll" who can't stay healthy and when he's out, their defense is nothing to right home about.

Although Colbert is usually solid in his drafts, he hasn't drafted any "game changers" like Polamalu to pass the torch to. Today's Pittsburgh Steelers will have to rely on outscoring their opponents, many times in shootouts.

It's pretty long, but a solid article on Haslam and his desire to win: http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2012/10/cleveland_browns_are_about_to.html

I
really like his business approach, going to other owners/teams and learning how to succeed. That to me is someone who isn't too prideful and can learn from others. Something this organization needs, instead of the stubborn guys we have now.

In regards to my "meltdown" comment above, you guys are gonna laugh at this shit. It's a cut & paste posted from a Steelers fan...enjoy!

I say we gut the team retool with FA's and go the Dan Snyder way

"Sometimes it takes just a couple wins to get that belief going," Cockroft said. "There is some talent on this (current) team, they just need to find a way to win a few games."

This quote is exactly why for a team like the Browns the first few weeks are crucial.

Anyone else following the bizarre TJ Ward rumors? Apparently he may or may not have been "found" by Crocker Park security last night and may or may not have missed walkthroughs this morning.

Just saw a thread about this over on the OBR. Strange. One thing I did notice in that thread was that "TJ, Haden & Little like to party." Explains a lot.

I was just reading tweets on it. Nothing updated in a few hours but I guess Browns PR is saying he was there and multiple media people say they have sources refuting that?
