I just wanted to pop in and wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I'm not dead, I promise. I've started a new job and moved into a new place, and I've just been ultra busy. Once I'm done training, I'll be able to waste tax payer dollars and surf on my phone when I'm supposed to be working
I hope 2012 finds you good health and happiness!

Here's a big virtual thumbs up. Since I'm too lazy to actually give a real thumbs up.

I had to dig this one up from waaaayyyy back. You guys are like my support group lol. I've been having a shitty time with life overall (damn baby daddy drama) so I'm very excited to share that something good has happened.
I finally got a halfway decent job offer today. It's with a local probation department, doing essentially what I did before I got laid off except with a population that usually hasn't been to prison. The director was very excited for some of the the skills/trainings I bring with me, which finally made me feel like I actually am doing something worthwhile. I get a gun back, too. Yay!
The only shitty part is its still less than I was making before being laid off (though a $4+ pay increase from where I am now) and it's an 18 month grant funded position. It can be extended for 2 12 month periods, and there is a good chance they will have funding for a permanent spot before then, so I am going in with a positive attitude. It's still conditional on passing a psych eval and a background investigation, but since I just passed one in November I'm not too concerned.
