....And it's about time. It's like the old joke....."what do you call 100 lawyers at the bottom of the ocean? A good start."

Now if I were a partisan hack like some on these boards...I would shamelessly ask...."what laws did they break?....blah, blah blah".

But I thought the Justice Department only went after Repubs, no? Would love to tune into the fatman on the AM dial today to listen in on his spin. Sh1t, his head will probably explode.

The fux at the helm of F & F were knocking down 8 figure annual incomes....all funded by the power of the IOU pen from the American taxpayer.

I will be following this story closely.....and a precedent will be set. The CEO's from AIG, WaMu, Lehman Bros., and others will not be sleeping too well this holiday season either.

Happy reading.

Uh, they're being sued by the SEC. That's not an indictment.

"The SEC has entered into non-prosecution agreements with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, in part because the companies are currently under government conservatorship. Under the non-prosecution agreements, both companies agreed upon a set of facts about the company's respective actions with regard to the alleged fraud. In exchange for agreeing to these statements of fact, and agreeing to cooperate with the SEC, the SEC will not sue either of the companies. The facts will remain in the public record, however, and could be used by individual investors who want to bring securitization claims against the companies at some future date."

"The government reviewed and approved the company's disclosures during my tenure, and through the present," Mudd's statement said. "Now it appears that the government has negotiated a deal to hold the government, and government-appointed executives who have signed the same disclosures since my departure, blameless -- so that it can sue individuals it fired years ago."

Sounds about right.

Can the SEC sue Bawny Fwank, Maxine Waters, and others while they're at it?

And Footie, WTF is it about the "fat man on the AM radio" crap?

I'm not defending Limbaugh by any stretch but your obsession with Limbaugh is more than odd. I have a hunch you've never really tuned in to his program, but - hey -- if it makes you feel particularly righteous to slam the dude to give credence to your own opinions, have at it.

I've listened tp the fatman on the AM dial plenty. His latest whopper? "Ron Paul said 9-11 was an inside job." Back in 91'02, his lampooning of Ross Perot sent me over the edge.

Remember, I was a card carrying Republican...for 3 decades...people like Limbaugh helped chase me away.

There are good conservative commentarists on the radio, Chubby ain't one of them. Unlike you, he dodged the draft...and remains one of the most famous chickenhawks ever.

Except for the fact that Limbaugh has made a very comfortable living disseminating his chickenhawk opinions, it appears you and he have at least two things in common: lampooning those with whom you disagree and avoiding military service.

Don't hold your breath waiting for the Wall Street types to lose any sleep. They're Teflon and nothing will stick to them.

One thing you can say with certainty about Wall Street:

They own any politician they desire. It doesn't matter which party, when they throw around the money all of D.C. can't wait to wet their beaks.

They're all crooks. Let's get rid of them all and start over with new rules. You take money from lobbyists you lose your job. How's that?

Wrong. When I got drafted I went to serve. No college deferment for me...I went to my physical. Big difference. I had "better things to do" too...but I was wont to abide by my country's beckoning, as evil and unneeded as the Nam War was.

None of my anal boils, toothaches, nor the heartbreak of psoriasis kept me from running away like the POS did on the AM dial.

It is NOT the Justice Department; it is the SEC. And it is NOT necessarily the executives they should be going after; the real culprits were Franklin Raines and Jamie Gorelick and a couple of others who deliberately cooked the books in the early 2000's and because of that reaped a couple of hundred millions dollars in illicit bonuses, with Raines only have to give back about $50 million of it ----- absolutely incredible.

Anyhow, SEC gets involved when it is a publicly traded security. As for the incompetent racist at Justice, Eric Holder, he will NEVER go after Franklin Raines or Jamie Gorelick.

That's only because he's too opening our southern border by harassing certain local Arizona sheriffs who have the courage and audacity to enforce state and Federal law.

They found nothing wrong....as I have said before. I was polished up, willing, and ready to go. Unlike the chubby chickenhawk fukk and his anal boil.

This whole thread is totally misleading. The Justice Department isn't indicting anyone related to this mess -- even though there are plenty who should be.

The only people the Justice Dept goes after are duly elected county sherrifs who attempt to uphold the law and protect the citizens from illegal and criminal aliens (largely because the federal government won't uphold the law). If there was ever a more clear illustration of the liberal mindset being completely upside down I don't know what it is.
