Kyrie with 20/5 tonight on 7/14 shooting...
Also played pretty solid defense.
Cavs were killed inside, but kept it close. These are the games I'll enjoy as a realistic fan wanting to build for the future. A hard fought L with the rookies looking good.
Also, I see Brian Windhorst spoke about the Cavs.. Taken from RCF:
So here's a quick synopsis from what I remember of the Windy interview:
He called in and they asked him about Anderson Varejao trade rumors, and and he said that people have wanted Anderson Varejao because of his defensive skills and motor, but the Cavs want to keep him for now unless they're blown away. They may be probing the league for his value and may look to trade him in the future, but for now they're very happy with him and the team in general.
The two guys they're actively looking to trade are Sessions and Jamison. He said specifically that the Knicks are "lusting" after Sessions, but a deal is hard because they have almost no assets left.
They started talking about the team, starting with the way Kyrie has been playing. He said that it seems Kyrie may be hitting a wall already- it's clear he's not in shape due to his injury and long layoff BUT it's clear that the cavs got a player, who looks to be head and shoulders above anyone else in the 2011 draft class.
He thinks the Cavs may almost be too good right now (the majority of RCF agrees) because realistically they need another top 5 pick, and he said that if Grant makes trades during the season, it'll be for 2012 picks. They started talking about the 2012 draft prospects, and he said that if you put a gun to Grant/Gilbert's head and asked them who they wanted, they'd probably say Harrison Barnes.
