Tristan Thompson really changed the tide of the game. It was close then he had a dominating stretch with blocks and a couple of baskets that took the wheels off of NJ.

Alonzo Gee is really starting to turn into a solid bench guy as well.

This team is kinda like the reds a few years back. They won't win a ton of games and frustrate the shit out of you, but still will be a lot of fun to watch. I really enjoyed the game today. So much that I think I'm gonna go ahead and order the NBA package.

I'm the same way, I know that losing is the best thing for this team but I can't watch the Cavs and root for them to lose

That's pretty much true on a national level. But the Cavs are far more enjoyable to watch compared to last season for a couple reasons. First, Lebron has been gone for a year now and the poor play wasn't as expected last year. Second, because they have Irving. Irving is going to be a really good player, and Thompson has shown a lot of potential. It's so much more fun watching young unproven talent than aging veterans.

I was strongly against it, and still think they could have made a better selection. But I thought Thompson would look overwhelmed this year, and he doesn't. He's not great by any standards, but he plays with energy and has potential.

Who would have been a better pick? Thompson has crazy potential and has already shown a ridiculous amount of defensive star power.

He's also shown the ability to put the ball on the floor and finish with either hand, not to mention his offensive rebounding.

His only weakness right now is his FT shooting, but that can be fixed.

Agreed we didn't need someone to come in and average 20 and 10 right away. We have time to be patient and let them grow. Thompson has a 17& 10 guy written all over him and pair that with Irving and a top 3-5 pick this year the cabs could be deadly in a couple years

I haven't seen many of the rookies play, so I'm not sure. It was a weak draft, so maybe Thompson was the best available.

And how can you possibly say his only weakness is FT shooting. I don't think there is a single player in the NBA with a single weakness. He has plenty of areas to improve, but he possesses the traits you can't coach (energy, athleticism, timing and awareness) so there is reason to be very optimistic.

You're an idiot.

When I say his only weakness is FT shooting that's what I meant. It doesn't mean he can't improve in other areas. His offensive game is very raw, but it's NOT a weakness. He's displayed the ability to put the ball on the floor and finish with both hands. When he's on the floor, his man has to pay attention to him.

Defensively he's been great. Blocking shots, boxing out, playing tough defense, etc...

Again, his achilles heel has been FT shooting. Outside of that, the rest of his game grades well. He's been impressing A LOT of people with his play, including scouts from other teams.

Nice try at trying to spin what I said though.

I liked it, or at least didn't have a problem with it; I just didn't really voice my opinion. I just wanted to make damn sure we didn't draft a European unless it was Kanter.
