First game following the suspensions stemming from Saturday's brawl with XU.

The Bearcats only had nine guys available for the game, only a couple were over 6'5. UC changed to a perimerter game for this one, at times they had five guards in the game. They shot lights out from beyond the arc. In some ways, the team played better without Yancy Gates. A lot of young guys looked really good getting some reps. I have a feeling the suspensions might actually help this team get better down the long stretch as far as building depth.

Key words. Cleveland State, Ohio, and to a lesser extent Kent State have a legit argument.

LOL, sorry bud, but you're dreaming. Osu and Xavier are better right now, but that's it.

Ps. Good seeing you at the MAC title game.

I've always said there should be a pre-season tournament called the Ohio Cup, sort of like the NIT or Maui Classic. OSU, UC, UD, X, Cleveland State and the MAC schools. They could hold the tourney at a different site every year (The Schott, US Bank Arena in Cincinnati, The Q up in Cleveland).

It should be a yearly thing for a few states.

Indiana, Purdue, Butler, Notre Dame, Indiana State, Evansville, etc...

Kentucky, Louisville, Murray State, Western Kentucky, Morehead State, Eastern Kentucky, etc...

Tennessee, Memphis, Vanderbilt, Belmont, East Tennessee State, Austin Peay, etc...

Now, granted, a lot of these schools already schedule each other or are in the same conference. However, more often than not, all of the programs are pretty solid, and wouldn't kill the SOS/RPI ratings of the bigger schools, especially considering some of the other terrible teams these schools play.

Other states/areas have done a great job of keeping city rivalries going despite conference splits. I'd like to see some more local area teams do the same.

Hate to do this, but the Bobcats are up 53 to 23 over Wright State at the under 16 media timeout.

Their argument for 3rd best team in the state is quite legit.

Without Hollaway and Lyons, Xavier is toothless.

UC beat Radford yesterday 101-70. They are starting four guards right now and actually might be better off without Gates and Mbodj in the lineup. We'll see how they will fare against better competition in a few games.

Really hard to tell. I'd say Kent, Ohio, Akron, Cleveland State could all beat Cinci, but I think Cinci would win 7 out of 10 times. Out of those teams, Akron probably has the best win so far, against Mississippi State who is ranked 16(?). Although there record is a lousy 5-5. They lost to Cleveland State on the last shot of the game. They have the talent to play with people, just arent consistent.
