I don't think Sonnen has much of a chance of beating Silva.

Silva has shown his wrestling sucks. He has good BJJ, but if Sonnen wrestles and play defense against submissions, he can beat Silva.

Silva's weakness against wrestling is exactly why I think GSP would beat him if they ever were paired up.

Point well taken. I just personally think Silva will beat Sonnen and could beat GSP.

Oh I think Silva can beat GSP, but he better learn some TD defense before that matchup, because GSP might have the best wrestling in the UFC.

Silva fights best when people think he can be beat or when people talk trash. When is he fighting people with lil to no chance he shows off. He will teach Sonnen a lessen and I think he would beat GSP. Belfort and his fast hands probably have a decent chance.

You are selling Sonnen way to short. Travis Lutter had mount on Anderson and gassed.. He lost to Ryan Chona via Heel Hook.. and to Daiju Takase via. Triangle choke. His Ground game is very suspect and Sonnen has a win against a much better grappler in Paulo Filho. I agree if it stays standing, Anderson wins via Vicous KO. On the ground. could go either way.

He beat Paulo Filho who was coked up or otherwise not caring. Filho/Sonnen (R) II wasn't even a fight. Filho just plodded around the cage, he missed weight etc. Filho's having mental issues. I don't think you can glean a lot from that, although I do agree with your reasoning as to why Sonnen (R) wins. I don't think Silva is a true BJJ black belt...he's like a Rashad Evans black belt.

I agree with everything that has been said about Silva but I just don't see this guy losing to anyone. I think Belfort has the best chance of anyone left.

I agree with your post (that Sonnen can beat Silva), but lets be fair. Silva was beating the snot out of RYO CHONAN before Ryo got desparate and landed possible the coolest looking flying submission of all time in MMA.

Anyone who doesn't think GSP has a shot at beating Silva hasn't watched Silva v Lutter or Silva v Hendo. GSP has better freestyle/folkstyle wrestling (leg takedowns) than both of those 2 by FAR, and they both got Silva on the ground EASY.

I think GSP has a chance of beating Silva. I just don't give him as big of a chance as most.

If Silva and GSP ever happens, I favor Silva. One two advantages: Size, and reach. No doubt GSP holds the edge in the grappling department. Silva's accuracy coupled with his reach might keep GSP at distance. I would love to see this fight but only at a catch weight or at most 185. I think the problem with this matchup is Silva's size though. He cuts roughly from anywhere 205 - 220 to 185. That creates a big problem for GSP.
