I agree, Thompson was winning in my opinion up until that point.

There are talks of Cerrone and "The Eagle" (can't spell that fuckers name ha) and also of a trilogy with Bendo depending on the TJ Grant and Pettis injuries.

A doctor on UFC tonight said Pettis tearing his PCL is worse than an MCL or ACL. He said he would be praying for him if he thinks he can be back by July. That sucks.

I would do Cerrone vs. Barboza which would be a great fight, and then the winner could get a true top contender. The Eagle can fight Melendez.

Another useless champion - strip his belt. I'd say have Thomson fight Melendez...but I've seen it twice already.

Honestly - I'd love to see Cerrone get himself a title shot.

Yeah Thompson/Melendez makes sense but they have fought three times already. No way they do it again unless it's for the title. Tough to make match ups when Pettis and Grant are both out with no clear return date.

I don't see Cerrone getting a title shot anytime soon, especially if Pettis is the champ. I keep forgetting about Dos Anjos who has won five in a row, including a victory over Cerrone in his last fight. Maybe give him Thompson if he wins his fight coming up.

Thomson has said he will probably retire. He's 35 and that loss will end pretty much any chance he has at a title shot. He wants to get into television and maybe commentate for the UFC. I don't think Pettis is a useless champion at all. Pettis might be a top 3 pound for pound fighter in the world. I can't see him being out past July with a PCL injury. There have been NFL Players who have completed their entire NFL career without a PCL. If it keeps him out past July it's because he's trying to build the strength up in that knee.

I wouldn't mind seeing Bendo vs Melendez 2 winner gets the next title shot. It was couch a close fight (one I thought Melendez won) that I think it could be justified.

Haha Diaz is nuts. It's especially rich considering Thompson destroyed him and Henderson's only recent fight that wasn't close was when he dominated Diaz.

I don't think Thompson will retire, I'm chalking it up to emotions after a tough loss.

I have a feeling he only has 1 or 2 more fights in him if he doesn't retire now. Guys in his camp mentioned that he knew this was his last chance to go for a title. The fact he was discussing this before the fight shows me it's a real possibility. If Dana offers him a chance to be on tv I think he would retire.

Thomson fight was competitive til that kick landed, I feel like Nate feels he can beat Thomson and is angling for a fight with him. He said he was gonna hunt down Thomson and Pettis. Needs another big win or 2 though right now.

Yeah, he needs some wins first. He is probably looking at a rematch since has fought everyone in the UFC top ten except Grant (hurt), Khabib, and Dos Anjos. He hasn't fought Melendez either, but that is not happening.

Barboza is just outside the top ten and a scary enough fighter that a win over him carries weight. That would be a nice fight to make.

Pulling for Faber and Varner.

It's a heavy WEC card.

I have the same, I think they are all competitive fights though. I think Lamas will test Aldo and Faber will do much better against Barao this time. Also could see Baugatinov beating Lineker.

Mir vs Reem is a pivotal fight for both guys, Mir has lost 3 straight and Reem 2 in a row where he was clearly winning early. Mir struggles in the clinch and Reem is a monster there, if he gets a hold of him its gonna be ugly.

Neither guy is a contender, but it's a lot worse for the HW division if Mir wins.

That was my exact thoughts on why I picked Overeem. I see him powering him up against the fence and finishing what he started on Browne.

Barao ( I think Faber could pull it off though)
Aldo
Overeem
lineker ( this should be a really good fight hard to call)
Trujjillo (should also be a close fight)
