Why should Sonnen even get a title shot? He just came off a loss in a title shot in a fucking different division. Just because he pops his mouth off doesnt mean Jones should give him the satisfaction of fighting him.

After reading more Henderson has had this injury for almost a month. In that time I can guarantee you Sonnen saw this as an opportunity for him to take Henderson his teammates spot. Sonnen has known of this chance and been training for Jones for close to three weeks. Hendersons camp shoulda been more upfront and told the UFC of the injury when it happened and that it's possible he wouldn't be able to fight. From what I read Henderson hadn't practiced in a few weeks b/c of the injury and yesterday when he tried to train for the first time his knee couldn't take it so he pulled out. Let the UFC and your opponent know things could change and they might need to lok elsewhere more then 8 days ahead of time if you haven't practiced in a few weeks.

So Jones is afraid of fighting an undersized guy coming off a loss?

And who gives a shit about Sonnen getting the shot? It's not like they bumped Hendo from the card or Machida or something to give a shot to Sonnen. No one else wanted the fight (Well Weidman said he'd take it as well but that's pretty similar to a Sonnen offer). If Jones is a champion he should be willing and want to fight and beat anyone. Also, Jones wouldn't have even been willing to fight Machida or Shogun that night. He refused to fight anyone.

Dana said that wasn't the case. Chael was with his girlfriend's dad who just had a stroke and Dana said he was shocked to get called.

Because every other possibility turned the fight down.

Jones is the champion. That should mean defending the belt against whoever the UFC deems is the next contender. His job isn't to determine who is and is not "worthy" of fighting him, his job is to fight.

The fact he could thrash Sonnen any time, much less when he had a full camp and Sonnen had none, only makes this more confusing/embarrassing for Jones.

Machida turned down the fight. Now it's Bones vs Belfort at 152.

Still disappointed by that but it makes far more sense for Machida to turn the fight down then for Jon to. Machida would have only had one month to prepare for the toughest rematch of his life. Bones at least had a full camp to prepare and be in shape and turned down a fight. Still wish Lyoto took it but I don't fault him nearly as much as Jones.

The UFC needs to change the contracts to where at least the champions have no say in who they fight, they fight the next guy they put in front of them or they get the title taken away.

Anderson and Sonnen were down to fight each other again at 151, but at LHW this time. How absurd would that have been lol.

I don't think Belfort/Jones is any more interesting than Sonnen/Jones since Belfort is in about the same standing as Sonnen plus he just came off an injury.

Belfort vs Jones is probably even worse. In Vegas Jones is a 13-1 favorite. They shoulda moved hamill up to fight jones and let him avenge his only loss. Or since silva was willing to fight anyone match him up against Evans.

If Hamill got a shot at Bones that could end up in the first death in the Octagon, I like Matt too much for that.

Hamill was only technically a loss due to an illegal elbow, which the type of elbow is was is about the dumbest rule in MMA (12-6 elbows being illegal).

Hamill got killed in that fight and that was at the beginning of Jones' career in the UFC.

You would rather Hamill get a title shot than Sonnen or Belfort? How is that possible?

At least then Jon Jones avenged his one loss. Belfort is as big as a underdog as hamill would be. You cant be much more then a 13-1 favorite. Really sonnen belfort and hamill do nothing for me against jones.

Hamill is clearly the worst out of those three fighters and it really isn't close.

Yeah, I'd have to say Hamill has the worst chance of beating Bones of the 3.

Hamill is the worse but Vegas basically says Belfort has a 95 percent of losing what's hamill a 98 percent percent chance of losing

I think that's actually the least he's been favored in a long time he's usually at least a 5-1 favorite

I'm just not very interested in Condit/GSP. I would have much rather watched Diaz/GSP but I guess that doesn't matter now.

A. Silva is all about fighting GSP now whether GSP beats Condit or not. He keeps mentioning a catch weight of 178 (about halfway between WW and MW).

I would LOVE to see that fight.

I still want to see GSP beat the snot out of Diaz too somehow, get him 1 or 2 fights to get a title shot.
