I'm not disagreeing, but it is their choice if they choose to fight.

because fighting when it's not sanctioned as an athletic competition is just called "assault."
Why does it need government sanctioning to be an MMA fight? I don't understand that logic.

And shouldn't it be my choice if I want to voluntarily take part in an "assault?"

The problem is that it is a professional fight. All professional sporting events, when their is money as prize involved over a certain amount (in Florida it is 50 bucks) have to be santioned by the state's athletic commission.

It could be I suppose. How far do we take it though? Should it be legal for me to offer two homeless people $100 to fight to the death?

That's what I was questioning. Why can a private organization not choose who it wants to fight. Why does there need to be government approval?

If both of them voluntarily engage in a fight to a death I don't see why not.

I am not saying I agree that the Govt. gets to say who can fight and who can't and for what but it is what it is. I don't make the rules but get in touch with your state rep and see what kind of answers they can provide I guess???

Actually nearly every major SAC has denied fights due to the non-competitiveness of the fight.

No state in their right might would sanction a fight between me and Anderson Silva, they have liability reasons for doing do.

Frank Mir recently said on Mark Madden's "Trainwreck" radio show that he "wants to cause the first death in the UFC by snapping Brock Lesnar's neck".

Is there a bigger tool or douche bag anywhere in the world than Frank Mir? I cannot stand this guy, gets his ass handed to him and still wont shut his mouth.

Awesome card last night. Loved seeing Bader knock out Jardine. Cain looked nasty as well, wanna see who his next opponent will be. Would love to see him fight the winner of Mir & Carwin. Wandy looked good as well. His physical features looked a lot different last night, went down a weight class and looked ripped. They also said he had facial reconstruction surgery to breathe better. Some of the cuts during the undercard fights were unreal. The Cro-Cop fight and Krystof fight both had a ton of blood.

What is the name of that MMA website where you can watch the fights from the recent PPV and the theme colors are like blue and whiteish. It's not MMA junkie but it's something like that.

I was pretty happy with the card. I wish Big Nog would have beat Velasquez though.
