He should, he's the most entertaining fighter in MMA and comes to fight, as much as I want Nick to win he better work on his take down defense because GSP's only way to win is to Lay and Pray imo

You guys see the salaries for Fedor/Hendo? Fedor getting $1.5 million with Hendo getting $800k.

Id say Bones, Guida and some of the bantam weights are just as entertaining to watch imo.

Either way, I hope GSP gets lit the hell up

I'll give you Bones, Guida pushes an incredible pace but isn't overly technical or entertaining. I should have said one of the most entertaining because there are a ton of fighters who I love to watch.

It's probably that Strikeforce pays their top guys so much because without them they would have been screwed before the Zuffa buyout. Now that Zuffa bought them they probably wouldn't make those types of contracts but by law they've got to honor them.

Either that or Zuffa is trying to use taking a loss financially with Strikeforce to its advantage for tax purposes.

From what I found;

Fedor makes 400k per fight
Hendo makes 250k per fight.

So during negotiations, they must have demanded that much more.

Hopefully that means Fedor in the game as Pride without Fedor is kind of silly.

And if there isn't going to be another EA MMA game then UFC needs to put Bas Rutten in their game since he makes everything better.

You said GSP's only chance is LnP, you did NOT say that you guaranteed that GSP would not stand.

I didn't say that GSP would stand, I just laughed that you said GSP's only chance to win is by lay n pray.

Diaz obviously has better boxing, but his striking uses basically zero kicks, GSP has a pretty good set of kicks.

Straight boxing Diaz obviously has an advantage, but overall striking advantage is a LOT closer than most would think. Diaz might still have an advantage, but it is relatively close.

Let's be honest, Diaz will most definitely spend most of the fight on his back. He can NOT learn enough TD defense between now and then to stop GSP. Matt Hughes and Josh Koshcheck, two great wrestlers couldn't stop GSP's TDs.

Diaz's only chance is a submission off his back.

Diaz is an exciting fighter, but I really don't think he has a huge shot at GSP. Most people forget what Diaz was like against top competition in the UFC, they only see him beating up scrubs in Strikeforce and suddenly think he's the best WW in the world.

His last 5 UFC fights he was 2-3 with losses to Diego Sanchez, Joe Riggs, and Sean Sherk.

I think Diaz (both of them actually) are huge douche bags but I do enjoy watching them fight. I am just realistic, he hasn't fought anyone worth a crap since Gomi at LW.

I was insinuating that he wouldn't stand with that comment, I should have been more clear on that. I am realistic as well and agree with most of what you said, Diaz's wrestling is nowhere near that of GSP's and he will most likely be fighting off his back but he can win from there as well. GSP has no comfort zone in this fight like he has against Shields. I disagree about the scrubs in Strikeforce comment, these are world class athletes and martial atrists and he just beat Paul Daley who was in a number one contender match in the UFC against Koscheck before being cut for his unsportsmanship. He TKO's him in the first round which I guarantee no UFC 170 pound fighter would do. He did lose to Sherk, Riggs, and Diego but that was when he was like 22 and he is a much better fighter now than then and those fights were extremely close, hell he stopped 17/19 take down attempts against Sherk.

That's a quick turnaround for Story, he won't be able to bully Nate the Great around like he did Pitbull against the cage.

I am sorry but you can't tell me that strikeforces 170 pounders are even in the same league as the top tier ufc guys.

Scott Smith? Exciting fighter but below average when in the ufc and he was top tier strikeforce.
Samurai? Please he's old and is on a 4 fight losing streak.
Shamrock? Please.
Noons? No name to most mamaw fans and Diaz is 1-1 against him since leaving ufc.
Santos? Zaromskis? Denny? Corbbrey?

I will give you Daley he was the best fighter that Diaz has seen since he left the ufc. I was impressed with that fight. However until the shot that dazed Daley Diaz was losing that's fight in the stand up if I remember right.
