The wife wants a photo program for our laptop for xmas. She told her sister this, but I don't want her to buy us something that sucks or is more than we need.

She just wants something that will make it easy to group photos, do minor cropping, red eye, black and white conversions, etc. We don't need anything fancy, just have a basic 2yr old $300 canon digital camera.

Looking for something in the $50-$100 range that works with windows 7.

Any help is appreciated.

If you want to buy something try Photoshop Elements:
http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-65136385-Photoshop-Elements-10/dp/B005MMMT6E

If you want something free Windows Live Photo Gallery is pretty decent:

You can do all of those things with the existing photo software on your computer. Just open the photo and look at the features up top.

Yeah, that's right in the price range he wanted.
