Pretty cool. Instead of having a limited audience with a special on Showtime or HBO he used his own money to produce it and is selling the show for $5, drm-free, on his website. Anyway, just passing it on since I know there are plenty of his fans on here.

I'm not a huge fan of the guy but I went ahead and bought the show anyway. I like what he is doing by offering his content for an extreme discount through himself any no one else.

Louis CK is pretty awesome. He did a IAMA on Reddit since so much traffic was driven to this thing from there. His answers on that were funny as well.

Here's an update on the special. He has made over $1M on the special. he donated $280K to charity and $250K was given out as bonuses to his staff. Sounds like it was a success.
