OK, so the football forum is getting entirely out of hand, IMO. The thread shitting is everywhere. The rules are too bland to really be able to do anything with them though as some of them don't break any of the rules. Coyotes sent me a PM regarding it, and he isn't the first. I know of a few people that quit posting because you just can't talk football. It all turns into back and forth "your school sucks" bickering. Here is his PM:

Ok, maybe it is just me letting off some steam, maybe it is whinning. Whatever you wanna call it, some things need to change in the high school forums. I know that a lot of fun goes on on this site, and most of the time it is all good. But the high school forums have gone too far now. As you all may know, I am a Massillon guy, as is skank. And I know he has not given Massillon a good name now, and he has gone too far. He may have ruined it for me as a Massillon poster, but, we need to stop this crap. The thread shitting is getting out of hand, and I know he is the main (or at least part of) the problem. People come on Massillon threads to say crap because of him, and I know this, but, it still pisses me off. If you have cancer, you cut it out to get better, right? So lets start cutting the cancer. I also understand, you dont want to get to the JJ level of policing, either, but rules have to be set.

I have some ideas, but, I also know I dont make the rules. But, I would like to offer my ( I know, you want to eliminate the penny) nickles worth. :D So lets see what we can do, together, as a team.
  1. If you go to a thread of a team or topic, to purposely start a fight, you get a warning. 30 day probation.
  2. After said warning, but within 30 days, you do the same thing, you get a 3 day forum ban.
  3. If you start trouble after 30 day probation, you get a 5 day timeout from forum. (God I hate timeouts!!!) :D
  4. If you get hit with a 4rd warning about trolling, you get a perma-ban from high school forum.
  5. Defending your school must still abide by forum rules, proper discipline will still apply.
  6. All members must agree to rules, in order to post in high school forums.
Again, I know we are trying to stay away from the old JJ days, but this is the high school forum. Take that shit to the basement, thats what its for. There are still some of us, who enjoy reading, discussing, talking about high school football, like ADULTS!!! Why should we have to read this mindless dribble that a few posters are shitting everywhere. If these rules are "too harsh", its a free site, FUCKING LEAVE!!!

I know I have rambled on, but I feel that things need addressed, and I just wanted to give my opinion. I appreciate how things have been getting handled so far, I just think that more "toe stepping" needs done. I actually got my first infraction the other day, for an unusual rant. But, besides that, the mods have done an outstanding job,,,, of course except for that damn GoChiefs dude,,, what an ass he is!!! Total hater of Massillon, what a douchnozzle!!

But, I digress. I hope that some of this helps. If not, go fuck yourself! :D

Thanks for your time, Pete

I had messaged ts about it already, but a no thread shitting rule would go a long way. If you go on to a thread just to merely cause shit, you're banned from the thread. If it continues to be a problem, just plain and simple, you are banned from the high school forum all together. 3 strikes and you're out. I think that would help curve a lot of it. Just wanting some insight, and to see if justin has a problem with it or if he wants it to stay the way it is or what?

I just got the PM, I'll essentially answer it here so all can see.

The only real threadshitting problems come from public/private or recruiting being interjected. If we flush all of that bullshit out to the basement, I think it will take care of most of it.

Basically create a rule regarding those topics (saying to keep that talk in the basement/not allowed in HS forums), and if there is a repeat violator we can infract/ban/restrict to basement.

As for thinthickbigred, we can't fix stupid :p

Eh, but you always get the "win a title on the field" shit in Massillon threads and such. That is just simply thread shitting, adds nothing, and just causes the threads to turn into mindless arguing.

I think we're getting a little too nit picky to address something like that.

It turns into mindless arguments because they're all fucking retards, not one tired comment.

Yeah, there are 3 or so people banned from the D3 Championship thread right now.

But if we're banning the same people from threads regularly for the exact same shit, we do need another course of action.

Regardless of why it turns into an argument, it still does. The thread goes turns to shit ultimately because of that one comment. I think if someone makes a comment like that, then they should be banned from the thread. And if it's a continued problem with them, 3 thread bans, then they are gone from the football forums. I also agree that it is being nit picky, but it's obviously what has to be done if we want to attract people over here to actually talk about football.

All this seems typical of the type of morons who argue over high school kids.

Hope this helps
