The wife and I are looking to get away for a relaxing four days sometime in January. I was thinking of Hocking Hills. I like the idea of not to far to drive, the zipLine and a few of the sites (caves) in the area. What I’m looking for is a nice, clean and comfortable cabin, w/ hot tub and kitchen area, in a nice setting, close to the majority of events.
I been to a few different websites but I have had some past experiences via what was on the site and what was reality…
Any suggestion? Place to stay, things to see/do and some great restaurants in the area. ....</SPAN>

I've only rented one "cabin" so I can't really compare it to others, but I liked this place. http://www.hockinghillsstudiointhewoods.com/studio.htm
It's not really a cabin, but we had a great time. The hot tub was nice and the place was clean, unique and relatively close to everything.

Hocking Hills is awesome. Once, while at THE Ohio U, there was a L3 snow alert where they actually had to cancel classes for a few days. Some friends and I took advantage of how it was illegal to be on the roads to drive up there (no traffic!) to party for an afternoon.
We were up there a lot during those four years, but that time was particularly awesome. Place looked sweet covered under snow.

Check out the cabins at Deer watch cabins, very clean and cozy. There are only 3 cabins on the property and it is private and secluded, but close to everything in the area. The owner and his wife are top notch and go out of their way to make sure that everything is perfect. Our favorite cabin is the one in the back, it is the most secluded and has a great view of deer and wildlife and nice outdoor hot tub on rear deck.

I'm sure you can find something from here...

The winter time is the best time to visit the caves when the snow is down and all the falls are frozen. Looks amazing.

As for Hocking Hills is great esp during big snows or ice storms if you can get there. Couple years back we had that ice storm it was truly beautiful but dangerous too as all you could hear was cracks of treees coming down. Up the road is Wahkeena Nature Preserve if you havent checked it out do so.

Check out the Rocky Outlet Store in Nelsonville. Pretty good food, discounted Rocky boots and apparel, and the Columbia, Carhart, etc. Most stuff is always marked down at least 25%

My cousin and good friend goes to Hocking College so I get to hear all the time about how bad it sucks. And I've been there a few times and agreed.
