How should we be handling this place? It's essentially the old Huddle CFB forum. I don't like Notre Dame, but it's pathetic how CCRunner, NCF, Tiernan and Sleeper are just trolling them to piss off ND fans. There are a good number of site ND fans who are good posters and I think it's BS they have to endure a handful of trolls constantly insulting their program.

I don't want us to be GODerators, but I think we should be more proactive in modding this forum to eliminate pure trash designed to piss off fans of other teams.

Yeah.....I posted a reply in that thread attempting to emphasize the point that people should troll specific teams. Unless Justin says "NO!", I'm going to start deleting obvious trolling posts, at least. I'm getting tired of a handful of douchebags ruining the whole forum by trolling one specific team.

I think we should tighten the hold on that forum 10 fold

I do, as well. It's one thing to be cool and lenient....it's another thing to let people bash other programs at will. The bashers are either known trolls (CCrunner, NCF) or nobodies (Tiernan) who won't be missed if they can't comply with the simple request to be cool.

NCF and CCrunner are trolls and any ND threads that they start more than likely just need to be locked. sleeper is so over the top that I cannot believe people take him seriously.....but his threads probably just need locked.

Funny little tidbit about sleeper.......I have met in before and believe it or not, he is about one the nicest people you would ever meet...hahaha.

Sleeper is one of my favorite posters. He never breaks his schtick. It's brilliant.

How the hell did Sleeper hack into your account?

Anyways, I thnk that Sleeper is the only one smart enough to understand trolling, therefore the rest really are just that bad.

Hell, half the posters on the CFB forum weren't even smart enough to understand how to make 1 all-decade team from the top 5 programs of the decade.

I completely agree with it. At first I thought he was just a big turd... but it's amazing how he keeps it up so well.

And as far as the topic at hand. As long as they aren't breaking rules, let them be I say.

I just wish people were smart enough to ignore those constantly trying to flame.

This is what I am trying to move people towards. Just ignore the trolls and they will go away.

They won't ignore them though. Honestly, the ND fans are soooooo thin skinned over there. I get PMed about twice a day from various ND posters. I try to tell them just ignore a dbag like NCF, but they don't.

As long as they're breaking rules, let 'em go. I mean, seriously, if someone's feelings are hurt because someone else doesn't like their football team, they're always welcome to pay $12 and go back to JJs to have their feelings protected. If the internet is too rough, they can always, like, you know, get off the damn computer.

Too much grey area to do anything about it

I really want to LOCK THAT BITCH DOWN like LJ does the politics forum.

Maybe at another mod or two for the CFB forum only, make us approve all threads?

I know that would suck..

I nominate NCF and ccrunner.

Honestly, I am hoping that it just dies down now that ND's coach is in place and bowl season is about to start. I locked up one of the douchey threads about Brian Kelly and if I see any more of them that are just started for stirring shit, I am locking them as well.

I completely disagree with getting more strict with the rules. Guys, we really don't want to turn this in to JJ. People will always find grey areas to exploit. If we let people regulate themselves they will eventually learn to ignore the trolls instead of just complaining to us and wanting us to do something.

To be more specific... another reason I am against this is it seems quite arbitrary and very similar to JJ bannings from specific mods who just had problems with specific posters. If people aren't breaking the rules we've discussed and agreed upon... then don't do anything about it.

Justin, I think you need to make your post from the Cats Gone Wild bitching thread a sticky in that forum so that maybe people can get off the subject.

I agree 100%. Let's not turn into JJ.

No prob. I respect the input I've been given here. I do have two questions concerning this, though.

1. When known trolls like NCF, CCrunner, etc. are doing their thing, how tolerable is it for us to let things be a "kill 'em all, let god sort 'em out!" thing? My personal feeling is that whatever the rules are, if NCF is being NCF, he shouldn't expect to be helped out by us modding the people he's instigating.

2. Concerning NCF, look at this thread: http://www.freehuddle.com/thread-3426-page-1.html

Notice how he's fond of utilizing fucked-up font sizes/colors to make his points and be obnoxious? Can we edit out this stuff so his posts read normally? It's just disruptive when one guy's posts are 40-point, compared to 12-point......just because he's being a troll dick to piss people off. I'm not asking to alter his words, just how they're presented when he does so in a distracting manner.

I think the dumbest people on this website post on the CFB forum. Some tool is trying to argue that Ahmed Plummer has played college football int he past 10 seasons, when he played his last game 11 seasons ago.

I have an idea for the CFB forum, just combine all the Notre Dame threads into 1 giant Notre Dame megathread and just put all the new notre dame threads in there unless they are actually relevant and newsworthy.
