For those of us that have wood burning fireplace or wood burning stoves how much wood do you estimate your usage is per year?
I plan on using the fireplace more this winter.
I split my wood by hand with a wedge sledge and my trusted Husqvarna axe. Last year I used up ¾ of a cord of wood, this year I’m estimating my usage to be over a one cord.</SPAN>
I have split this year 2 cords of wood so I have a stock pile now.</SPAN>

I casually burn wood on the fireplace for effect not heat, and have 1/2 a cord I am planning on using this year.

I wake up every morning with an abundance of wood. While I have been known to stack some by hand, I occasionally share some with my wife.

lubrication cuts down on friction = less burn. Also ...stay away from STD's = no burn

Oh lord, you guys crack me up!
We have a woodburning stove that we use constantly. It doesn't heat our whole house, but cuts our gas bill significantly. We didn't even turn our furnice on til Thanksgiving. I have no idea how much it is, but it's a bunch.

It's not the 1800's anymore, so this thread won't apply to most of us.Belly35;1005848 wrote:For those of us that have wood burning fireplace or wood burning stoves how much wood do you estimate your usage is per year?

About 1/2, all cut from our own trees.
