How old are you and why are you replacing your knee?

Im 37 have no cartilage left in the knee at all. A lot due to past wrecks on four wheelers, dirt bikes, and a few cars. Its not a complete replacement just cutting a v in the bottom bone and a v in the top and replacing with new parts. I have dealt with the pain for about six years. They wanted me to wait til i was in my forties but i dont want to be hooked on pain killers.

Are you getting the minimally invasive or the full incision? Doctors I know prefer the latter because they can get a better hold of the knee and feel more comfortable with their work. Makes for more pain/rehab afterwards but I would rather have it done right.

I find out monday what is exactly gonna happen. I just want the pain ive been dealing with the last few years to be gone. I dont want hooked on pills of any sort. they been feeding them to me the last few years. I only take them if i absolutely needed them. With work its hard to make it all ten hours without taking a few.

My dad had his right one replaced last year at 50, and this past July had his left one. Both are full replacement plastic knees, cups, the whole 9 yards. He said they were $25,000 a piece
He actually was doing his at home exercises last week and popped his new one out. Just be careful and don't overdo anything

Hell no at 62 I was going to do the Wound Warrior run a few weeks ago however I hurt the bottom of my foot (ball part of the foot bone bruise) jumping off a ladder I think …stupid move. I had football knee injury and blown off a APC hurting my knee but nothing serious to replace anything yet </SPAN>Devils Advocate;1003205 wrote:Damn belly, By now I fugured that you had your WE knee replaced.

We have a patient who just had a knee replacement done and he thought it'd be a piece of cake.
He was wrong. He was actually kept at the hospital for about 3 days with post surgery complications and he was in severe pain.
I saw him out walking around gingerly today though, so he must be recovering nicely.

Oh yeah, I forgot. My dad had a blood clot in his calf after his 2nd replacement, so complications DO happen. Plus, he's built cheap
