He is, Red Rum is a closet Smithie/Rider/Bulldog fan, he voted for Obama, and then banned me from his little contest.

The Red Rider Ski Club must be outraged. Where are they gonna practice

Respect the tradition.
True, Norwayne is gonna rename their stadium Spitzer Field, he's a BIGGER car dealer. Red Rider 1 is gonna p**sed.

Attention all people playing the Premier Pigskin Prognostication Pool,

despite the concerted efforts of Miyagi, Beast and Bloody to...

*assassinate my character
*create unwanted threads on my behalf
*introduce anarchy where order once reigned

Nothing has changed. The contest will be on this thread. Limit weekly picks to one post (edit that post if you change your mind). The contest is open to anyone wishing to participate, except Bloody. 10 week schedule is on page 75. Weekly final picks deadline is every Friday at 6:59pm.

Sorry I have not been on here the past few weeks. I was out covering some stories out west. I did have time to stop in Vegas and check on the odds. Here are my picks for week one.

Manchester
Northwestern
Norwayne
Danville
Norton
Loudonville
Garaway
Tusky Valley
Northwest
Wooster
West Holmes

So no lie true story there I was walking down a park trail close to Wooster. When I here two men talking about this thread. As they passed by me I here one of them ask the other one. Do you think I am fat. I could not believe it. Then the best part was the reply. Red Rum you are not fat you are just thick. This was followed up with thank you Mr Miyagi.

It looks like a majority of the WCAL picks are unanimous. Let's hope they all pull through! More points for the playoff race that way :D

I'm curious why everyone's picking Manchester over Hillsdale. I heard Manchester lost a ton of great players from a year ago. I know they're returning a good QB. Is Hillsdale really that far down?

Where's all of our Smithies? I haven't heard much talk about them either.

Bobcat, heard the same thing about Manchester's QB, STUD. Hillsdale lost a ton of talent, plenty left although unproven. I am cautiously optimistic, tough week one game.

Add to that, that the game is at Manchester where most teams get homered

They tend to be pretty quiet prior to matchups. Lack of bulletin board material that way.

For examples, go back to last year, the week of the Norwayne game. Read what most Smithie fans said prior to the game. Granted, I'm sure it wasn't one big unison of sandbagging, but it was quieter than Norwayne fans.

The Smithie fans contracts were not renewed and they were let go during the off season

Just hanging out. The Smithville faithful are just happy that after the season we had last year, a few posters have been gracious enough to put us in the "the top half" of the league this year. We really appreciate the vote of confidence. This Loudonville team has to be absolutely loaded for WCAL posters to be picking against us after we went 8-3, scored 39 PPG last year, shared the league title, and beat the D4 state champs, hopefully the Green Machine can just keep it close on Friday at home. :( Idk if any of our coaches or players have ever went against such a talented team before.

I haven't heard much about Smithville's team this year. Who do they have coming back this year? We know they lost a ton. Is there reason for heavy optimism or are you just backing them because they are your team Mr Russell?....which you should. Just askin

Hillsdale at Manchester is another interesting game. I went with the Panthers because of the location and the fact Hillsdale will be debuting alot of guys who are playing varsity for the first time.

The game that is troubling me is Orrville/Northwest. Picking against the Riders usually isn't wise, even against Northwest....decisions, decisions.
