Was there yesterday. Waves were very inconsistent. They'll get bigger in January at pipeline. Last Saturday there was a swell with 25-30 footers. Was awesome!!!

No, my wife is in the USAF. Stationed at joint base pearl harbor hickam. Ive never heard the squid one though.

my brother spent about 5 years there in the Navy. They were called squids.
