Thoughts?

I never really cared for her because she's strange and Poker Face annoys the hell out of me. But, after watching her 2nd performance on SNL and then hearing an acoustic version of Paparazzi just now, I have to give her her due. She's actually a very good singer and, although some of her shit annoys me, is very original in comparison to what is popular right now.

In addition to this, anyone else hear the rumor she's a dude? Who believes it? I must admit, she's not the most attractive woman in music right now.

This was on the huddle (old one I think) and its a youtube video of her singing and playing piano pre-Lady Gaga. I like this much better but it won't make $ like her freak show will.

I like Bad Romance, which I'm ashamed of.

I don't think she's a guy. I've seen videos of her performing back when she was at NYU and she's been a contestant on MTV Boiling Points and she looked like an ordinary girl in those two instances.

I can't stand her! Everyone says that her music is so innovative and different from everything else on the radio right now, but I don't really hear it. To me it just sounds like disco or hip hop with a mix of techno. I find every song of her's that I've hears to be repetitive, annoying, and boring. Whenever one of her songs comes on the radio I change the channel. I can't believe that she is only one of three people to debut their first album with three straight number one singles.

It's no different. Don't get me wrong, she's actually talented and can sing...but her music is really no different than others. The only reason I like Bad Romance is that I can hear some Freddie Mercury-Queen influences in it. But for the most part, her stuff is not that innovative.

I just listened to the entirety of the Fame Monster (her new album) online...I think it's very good. You can definitely hear a glam rock influence in her music ala Bowie or Mercury.

Even though some claim her stuff is unoriginal, I feel it's a race bw her, Beyonce and Taylor Swift for the Album of the Year Grammy, and I hope she wins.

They're up for "record" of the year.

Dave Matthews should win "album" of the year IMO. Shouldn't even be close.

They are all up for album of the year as well.

Nominees:
'I Am...Sasha Fierce'-Beyonce
'The Fame'-Lady Gaga
'The E.N.D.'-Black Eyed Peas
'Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King'-Dave Matthews Band
'Fearless'-Taylor Swift

After looking at the full list, I think Taylor Swift has some very good chances. She's going to pull nearly all of the Academy's country vote as well as a lot of the pop music vote. Her album was good, the top seller of 2009 and she is riding a lot of momentum after the AMAs. The odds are in her favor right now. I don't think DMB runs away with it...they have some very stiff competition as all of the nominees are good this year.

your obviously biased...Dave went in a compeltely different direction with their music...Swift, Gaga, BEP, Beyonce, all went into the same type of music they are comfortable with..Dave deserves album of the year.
