PAC 12 kinda makes sense for someone who really likes offense. This makes more sense than RR.

I think he could be pretty successful up there. I always thought he was a damn good coach

How so? Rodriguez has accomplished everything Leach did at Texas Tech.

I can't believe that out of all the open jobs he chose Washington State?

like the hire but it's like the pac 12 isn't even trying to portray a semblance of defense as a whole. every over/under next year in the conference should automatically start at 65

1) No BCS appearances

2) Gimmick offense (saw it live at the Cotton Bowl in '06, amazing how easy Alabama shut it down)

3) A bit nuts, and attacked his former employer

Not exactly an awesome track record

This.

As others stated there were more attractive jobs out there. Perhaps they all weren't interested and he knew that to be the case. WSU is out in the middle of nowhere (like Texas Tech actually) and the admin has little expectations. It makes it easy for him to be himself and not have to worry about him slipping up and costing him his job.

At least now I have a PAC12 team to root for.

Also, given the East Coast Bias and how much attention the B1G/SEC/ACC get, the coaches there are under a microscope.

At Illinois, he would be a big media circus. Out in Washington/PAC-12, we don't know anything going on out there in the grander scheme of things.

I'll rep you for this because it's pretty funny. Although, I feel like he should be going the other way, since Washington State is to the west. Reminded me of Washington Crossing the Delaware

Um, Washington State isn't to the west of the ocean.
