I don't see how David Shula isn't #1.

Mangini was definitely a horrible hire. Lerner rushed into that hire and it pissed me off. The hire definitely set the Browns back 3 more years. Lol at how fat he is in that pic though. I didn't realize he lost that much weight.

With the shit that came out about Mangini after the fact, it surprises me that the guy had any success. He was the football equivalent of Hitler.fortfan;994552 wrote:Don't understand it....but the media hated Mangini.

I am surprised the Browns only had 1 on the list.

Before looking at the list: Marty Mornhinweg, Rod Marinelli (if you go 0-16 you have to be on the list), and Norv Turner.
After: Petrino and Zorn are good picks too. Not sure how Raheem Morris is on there. They've taken a step back this season, but the Bucs went 10-6 last year starting 10 rookies.

I'm not sure but I think that list is a few years old. The basis of the gallery was an article written in 2009. This would at least explain Raheem Morris's inclusion as he had just been hired and not proved to be a decent hire.

Mangini is far and away the worst. He was run out of New York tarred and feathered. He was a known (non) quality. At least with hiring someone new they don't have a background showing their weaknesses. Mangini had a background, and it showed numerous weaknesses. Have no idea what Cleveland was thinking.

Rich Kotite was the worst IMO

Apparently Lerner was impressed with Mangini's dedication, because he was really sick on the day of the interview (had to stop the drive to Lerner's office numerous times to puke). I wish I was there to punch Lerner in the face that day.Manhattan Buckeye;995483 wrote:Mangini is far and away the worst. He was run out of New York tarred and feathered. Cameron was a terrible coach, but that doesn't make him a terrible hire. He was one of the top coordinators in football, and his name was on a lot of NFL teams' shortlist for HC. Similar with Spurrier, he didn't work out in Washington, but he had a proven track record.j_crazy;995528 wrote:QFT
A terrible hire IMO is taking someone known to be subpar - hence Mangini.

Which is why Norv Turner has to be on the list.Manhattan Buckeye;995544 wrote:A terrible hire IMO is taking someone known to be subpar - hence Mangini.
He went 49-59-1 with Washington. Oakland hired him. He went 9-23 with Oakland. Then San Diego fired Schottenheimer after a 14-2 season to hire him? With his 1-1 playoff record in 9 seasons?
It's crazy that he's going to miss the playoffs twice and not reach the Super Bowl once in 5 years with that team in that division.
Norv Turner is probably my most irrational hatred in the world. I don't know the guy and I don't like the Chargers, but he makes me furious every Chargers game I see.

Mornhinweg took the wind after winning the OT coin toss and kicked off. That should get you #1 alone.Mulva;994750 wrote:Before looking at the list: Marty Mornhinweg, Rod Marinelli (if you go 0-16 you have to be on the list), and Norv Turner.

Haha that's exactly why he was first on my list.ts1227;995895 wrote:Mornhinweg took the wind after winning the OT coin toss and kicked off. That should get you #1 alone.
I'm only 22 years old, but I'm pretty confident I will never see a dumber coaching decision before I die.
