Having a conversation w/ some co-workers about how we prefer to spend our money. The two sides were, "I want a really nice house and vehicles", and the other argument was, "I live modestly so I can afford to travel and do things I enjoy". Now I know everyone on here is very wealthy, but assuming you made a humble living, which way do/would you choose to live.

Cheapest house possible. Infact probably more a condo, so I dont have to cut grass and all that bs, I want to travel and see the world.

Debt free so I could do as I please. Hopefully (knock wood), I'll be much closer to that goal within the next 2 weeks.

No need to have a huge house. I would rather live in a nice house and save money to travel, buy electronics, etc.

We live within our means. Zero debt other than our house. We pay cash for our cars. Even with six kids we maintain a nice lifestyle because we focus on how we spend our money.

I probably live too frugally, I save a lot of my money, and not to buy anything, just to have. So I know when I buy a house it will be moderately priced, so that I can do with my money what I want.

I would do a very nice house with nice automobiles and clothes.

Don't have much desire to travel.

Definitely live for travel, sporting events, etc. Nice house is for easily amused people.

Small Ranch on a huge plot of land. Don't care for traveling and no need for a huge house.

Huge house, of course. We don't care much for cars, though.

Things make all the times not at the experiences better.

I understand the other way.....just happy attending local sporting events of my kids and school. Rather have nice stuff to go with it rather than do something else away from home. Just me.
