Kent State in a bowl

A few weeks ago when Kent was 1-6, no one was talking about seeing Kent in a bowl. But they just won four games in a row and will be bowl eligible if they beat Temple this Friday. I know it's unlikely that an MAC team with a 6-6 record will be invited, but considering that Kent would have a five-game winning streak, that may make the difference.

Of course, the biggest thing is they have to beat Temple.

The only thing worse than a 6-6 MAC team in a bowl is a 6-6 SEC team in a bowl.

Don't be too sure. Last year no one gave us a chance in hell of beating Ohio U but we did it.

If Kent makes a bowl, it's just further evidence that THERE'S TOO DAMN MANY BOWLS GAMES!

Congrats to former Buckeye assistant Darrell Hazell for getting them to the point of even being bowl eligible. For a MAC school I've read that they are having a pretty good recruiting year too.

What a joke. Mt. Union would whip the Flashes.

I have said it before and I will say it again. Anyone who believes this knows nothing about football. Kent's line is about 30 to 40 lbs bigger at every position and they have 70 d1 players on there team and Mount has 5 if they are lucky.

The Purple Raiders would surely beat the Colts too.

A 6-6 Sun Belt team has to fall in between, right?

As I pointed out, if Kent beats Temple, Kent will have a 5-game winning streak. That has to count for something.

...just that the program is finally moving in the right direction.

Kent St. will not be invited to a bowl this year.

not true. 6 wins will get you a bowl when you won the last 5

But the MAC is awful, and 8 win Temple got shafted last year on a bowl due to it.

IF they somehow beat Temple, they will not get chosen because 1) they are a member of the MAC 2) one of their wins is against a 1AA team.
