As expected, Addington named the new crew chief for Tony Stewart. Still don't see why you would break up a Championship team though.

Rumor going around is that Kurt Busch will be fired from Penske Racing. Nobody out there with his credentials to replace him though. Who is there? Vickers, Reutty, Ragan, and Mears? I'd expect one of them to be signed for a one year contract if this is at all true.

Not surprising. Seen it coming after hearing Penske's interview after Homestead.

Penske has had the two largest D-bags in NASCAR, Brad Keselowski and Kurt Busch.

Brad K is at least coming in 3rd in the D-Bag race... Busch Brothers definitely take a 1-2 finish in that race.

I'll take a winning d-bag driver over a most popular meaty oaker driver all day long though.

I'm not so sure about though. Successful team owners care about one thing and one thing only, winning. Most popular would make them money, but obviously they don't need it if they have a winning program at the Sprint Cup level. Winning races will bring them enough cash.

Ragan was released this morning from Roush Racing to pursue other opportunities. He was still under contract through the end of 2012, so I'd say he's the replacement for the #22. Then again, Ragan has done nothing, and Keselowski has at least won some races. When Shell signed up to sponsor the 22 car, a good driver was a demand of theirs. So maybe Brad will switch to the #22 and Ragan will drive the #2 Miller Lite Dodge.

David Reutimann is the best available driver. He is great with sponsors and is a genuine humble guy. He won a race in 2009 & 2010. His charity cookout and golf tourney is this weekend in Zephyrhills. Penske should hire him.

There really isn't any options that are even somewhat appealing. Maybe he sits out in 2012? Unless some team bumps a driver from their lineup, I just don't see him accepting or getting any rides at any of these available teams unless Red Bull finds a way to stay alive.
