He was from Ohio before he became an SEC coach.

Yes.
He just came from UF where he had his most success. He's considered a SEC coach. Miles is from Ohio, but he's an SEC coach. But, you can see it whatever way you want. Why dont you call him a MAC coach then:confused:

I know I'm a little late on this, but OSU hosted an event at the Union on Sunday evening with Eddie George, Todd McShay, and Desmond Howard talking about their OSU v. Michigan experiences with the rivalry. Des came out and told everyone that if Urban doesn't announce he's coaching OSU this week that he will go on air of College Gameday this Saturday and say it himself. He is obviously joking, but being colleague and close friends with Meyer, its pretty much a lock with him saying this.

I think labeling anyone as a type of group of coaches is retarded. The entire application of the SEC brand on shit is absolutely insane. There are good coaches everywhere. Guys like Mack Brown and Bob Stoops, Pete Carroll, Jim Tressel, Joe Paterno, Lloyd Carr, etc weren't given a branding.

I don't get the idea of taking credit for the accomplishments of others. Aren't the other schools in your league the "enemy"? Why are their accomplishments a point of pride?

My point is that he is much more than what you want to make him out to be. He cut his teeth and molded himself as a head coach many other places. Places that are not in the SEC. For you to claim that he is just an SEC guy, when he was already successful before he got to the SEC, is ridiculous.

Never said he was just a SEC guy. People remember him as UF's coach and his success there (and it was his last job, probably longest tenure). Dont act like you guys didnt hate his guts in the past when he was coaching in the SEC. You guys always ridiculed him making SEC remarks. He didnt have that criticism at the other schools. So, basically you guys labeled him for years while he was at UF

LSU had to go to the Big 12 to get their coach. Pathetic, reeks of desperation.

Just because some OSU fans hated him at Florida, doesn't mean all of them did.

I'm on the fence. I wasn't a big fan of his "God wanted me to coach you" tactic with the one recruit or crying on tv to get a shot at the title game in 2006.

The buckeyes will pay whatever it takes to win, whether players or coach.;)

I still find it hilarious that all the bucks nation wants Urban so bad when they bashed him like crazy, called him a cheat, cant win without tebow stuff while he was at UF. But, you guys act like you never said that stuff. After all the talk of the SEC having the best coaches and winning titles every year, you guys had to go out and get you an SEC coach. I can imagine the hate topics for Urban and who's our next coach in 3 or 4 years.
All the succesful coaches in the SEC learned how to coach in the Big Ten. Saban, Miles, Meyer. Now one is coming home. The only reason the other 2 don't is because SEC standards are so low they can pretty much get any recruit without them knowing how to read.

Why is the chance slim? LSU doesnt play in the B1G or OOC with OSU. There usually are about 10 teams that could play OSU in a bowl game on a regular basis. LSU has only faced OSU once in many years. So yeah, slim.
fair enough...but, slim or not, I sure hope we get to revisit this convo next year, or the year after that, or.....

Reported. Ohio State reported the most secondary violations over the past decade. That doesn't mean they committed the most. Also, as has already been pointed out, since OSU has more varsity sports than any other school in the country it serves to reason that they would also commit more total violations. I'd be interested to see how many they reported per sport.
