Nothing a little honesty couldn't cure. Stop doing the "they currently have a coach" dance with the back channel communications, and just say that you're in discussions with the school. Why pretend?

I think there will be a press release soon announcing a 6pm presser. I don't think it is a coincidence that Sportscenter starts at 6pm.

Edit: Presser at 5pm now.

There is also supposidly a confrence call with the NCAA about OSU's penalties today. Hopefully the penalty expectation and bowl status will also be known/shared during the press confrence.

Once they have the presser out of the way we will only have confirmation about Meyer as being the head coach. Likely it will be two weeks or more before his entire staffing hires are finalized, so we'll continue to hear rumors about his staff for a while.

I agree. I think its a little ridiculous this isn't being publicly announced, but it may have to do with some legal issues such as allowing time to expire while the job is posted. It'll be soon when its formally announced.

Also, on the move with Meyer, will be Zach Smith. Smith, who was a graduate assistant under Meyer at Florida, will leave Temple as the wide receivers coach and do the same job at Ohio State.
He is Earle Bruce’s grandson.

Can someone make a gif of Bollman getting the shit kicked out of him by Meyer? I know that's asking a lot, but it'd be sweet.

The most likely scenario would be telling a recruit that he will honor the scholarship but that said recruit doesn't "fit" into his system. That way, it would be a mutual decision.
What if verbal recruits call Urban Meyer?

Just got off the phone with Mike Stoops. Says nobody from Ohio State has contacted him.

Stoops said that he'd love to be coaching again soon and a place like #OhioState is exactly the opportunity he'd be looking for.

Stoops said that Urban Meyer is someone he admires and wants to go anywhere where he can compete for a national title. OSU fits category.

Great day so far. Urban done, Fickell stays. Say what you want about his head-coaching ability, Fickell took one for the team this year and I admire him for it.

Me on the other hand..

Except negotiations were still going on last night.

Im not seeing what my source was wrong about? When he got his current job it was offered and accepted before it was posted, then they had to wait 9 days before the employment contract could be signed.

If negotiations were still going on last night, how were you right about it being a done deal last wed?

Dispatch reporting Fickell was offered DC job. Urban said he needs an answer today.

Who knows what is really going on?

I read it as role undefined. Maybe Ast. Head Coach?

Is there room for Stoops and Fickell and Vrabel ? That would be crazy! Can it get any better than this?

I don't expect Vrabel to be back from everything I have read.

I've said it before... why are people still high on Vrabel? The LB's were pretty terrible this year.

Has there been any mention of a complete staff though? There's alot of coaching positions that nobody pays much attention to, but will also need to be filled. I honestly would like to see Johnson stay on the staff. He has done a very good job w/ DB's over the years, and he can recruit.

Also, I really hope that whomever the DC is, gets us back to the Silver Bullet attacking defense. Heacock has had very good defense, but he calls defense defensively if that makes any sense. More like he's playing against the offense as opposed to making the offense play against him.

Well, he did have only one experienced linebacker to work with.

Asked Ohio State about Mike Vrabel's current deal with Ohio State. OSU responded they don't have a "fully executed copy of the contract."
