This bad boy comes out Sunday, anybody buying? Anyone still a Zelda fan like I am?

We can also use this thread to discuss all things Zelda: old games and such. I just finished Twilight Princess a few months back to prepare myself for the new release. I didn't ever play it when it came out because I had already sold my Gamecube and didn't have a Wii yet. Once I got hold of a Wii I simply forgot about it until I started hearing things about the new title so I went out and got it for $20 and finished it in a few days. It was "meh", but Skyward Sword looks way better.

This is techinically the first Zelda Wii title since Twilight Princess was developed for the Gamecube and simply ported to the Wii, so SS is going to have a lot better motion controls and 1:1 sword use.

I sadly won't be getting the game on Sunday considering I a) don't have the money for it and b) even if I did I am currently homeless and living out of my car so I wouldn't necessarily have a place to play it.

Discuss!

How many Zelda games are there now? Do the stories from game to game even connect?

Counting Gameboy/Nintendo DS titles? There's a lot.

If you count consoles-only, there are now eight:

The Legend of Zelda - NES
The Adventures of Link - NES
A Link to the Past - SNES
Ocarina of Time - N64
Majora's Mask - N64
The Wind Waker - Gamecube
Twilight Princess - Gamecube/Wii
Skyward Sword - Wii

Ocarina of Time was freaking amazing. Used to have the Kokiri Forest song as my ringtone.

The only way ill ever get a Wii is if there's a Zelda game good enough for me to buy it, so I'm anxious to hear about this one.

I remember everyone hated the water temple. I loved that place. Damn I wish I still had a 64.

It does. If it gets stolen within the next couple days it wasn't me.

Ocarina of Time is still probably my favorite video game of all time. I actually played that back in the spring and solved it again.

That being said, Wind Waker is very underrated.

No joke, I was stuck on the fucking water temple from my sophomore year of hs to freshman year of college. Think there was some key I couldn't find or something like that. Pissed me off, but my roommates helped me get it at college and I finished from there.

And I still have a 360 with Ocarina, Super Mario 64, Blitz, Super Smash, and Mariokart. It easily gets played more than my 360.

Zelda sucked. Everyone in the world is wrong about Ocarina of Time except for me.

You're not supposed to point it out, that's how trolling works.

Maybe I'll ask for it for Christmas. My wife bought me Goldeneye for Christmas last year. Worst mistake of her life... next to marrying me.

I never understood the hate for the Water Temple. Yeah, I actually had to use my brain to figure out how to get places, but it wasn't some MENSA-entrance challenge or anything. Just a bit of experimenting and trial-and-error and repeated failures to set things up right. If anything, it reminded me of that one tricky block puzzle in the the SNES game's ice dungeon, where you had to do things just right to make a path to the boss.

Well, I did hate the sub-boss fight with Link's Shadow, but that was just one room.

Shhh, you're supposed to pretend that you're not really trolling. That's how trolling works.
