<o:p> Painful … paintball ... shit hurts

I have a friend and his kid is into paintball. We when to the paintball range. This was about three months ago.
Long story short …. I got hit in the upper side of my arm almost in the arm pit. I had gear on and long shirt, tee shirt but it happen. The bastard really hurt at the time and the black and blue mark is about the size of a grapefruit for a long time. I would do it again but make sure I was better protected as much as possible.

Anyone else have a paintball injury … picture would be good also.

Is it possible to take a shot that *really* hurts and does some damage? Yes.

Does the 'average' paintball shot hurt nearly as much as some people think? No.

It hurt at the time (lucky shot in a soft area under the arm) did I stop no . . . would I do it again yes.

Make a note to yourself: When you get older you bleed more and bruise bigger. :D

I was at an amateur tournament team practice at an indoor paintball facility in Columbus once... I was a front man when I played, so it was a long walk to the back exit of the screened in field. One time when I got knocked out, I was walking back to the exit. I had a "back" teammate behind the tall, back bunker that was not shooting (probably re-filling). I jogged right in front of him (about 5 feet away) as he started laying paint down a line. I had 7-8 distinct bloody, scarred marks diagonally across my back. Oww!!

Worst spots to get hit: back of the knee, neck, & fingers.

I still have 2 paintball markers I'm trying to sell if anyone is interested.
'04 BKO w/ accessories, very smooth
Tricked out '02 Spyder Imagine that shoots better than most high-end guns.

I took one to the knuckle once. That was painful. Shouldve wore gloves and it would have hurt less I imagine.

I used to play with my friends here and there. One of my friends is actually sponsored to play which is pretty cool.

I've been hit in the knuckle which hurts like a bitch, in the neck, throat, and all over my arms. I've been hit with frozen paintballs before which hurt like crazy.

Been paintballing once with shorts and a t-shirt on. Got shot in the face, shoulder, and a couple other places. Last round when I got shot, I turned around and got sprayed by my teammate. Couple in the thighs and one straight in the cock.

I've been paintballing just a handful of times in my life. I'll tell you something, you haven't felt pain until one blasts you in the ear. Of course, I should have had a mask that fit my face/head correctly, but I was young and stupid.

That would be fun. It's been years, but I'm sure it'd be a blast. Definitely has to have speedball/X-ball field. I am not a fan of playing in the woods.

...Years ago when this all started (National Survior Game) It was with a double action gun (looked like a 44mag) that held maybe 6 possibly 8 paintballs, a small CO2 cartridge and you had to be a very good shot unlike today when you just firing an endless supply paintballs. If we had a competion in late November, the paintballs would freeze (some dudes actually froze them b/4 playing) just to F up the other players.

?!?! Once you buy a gun, how expensive is it to purchase the gas and a bag of paint?!?! You can go and play in the woods; you don't have to go to one of those paintball places where they charge an arm & a leg.

Here's a list of paintball locations & reviews in Ohio: http://www.pbreview.com/fields/37/

The places I am used to playing at are Mohawk (near Mansfield) and Splat Paintball (located at Clay's Park in Canal Fulton, near Akron). Splat is a sweet place to play. The last time I was there they had 2 X-ball fields and a woods field. Mohawk has 1 big & 1 small paintball field and a huge woods with multiple scenarios possible.

Probably the highest-rated paintball facility in Ohio (and the Midwest):

In college, i went for one of my p.e. classes, it was my first time. my college class went up against the boy scout troop and troop leaders. They had their own equipment, the good stuff-automatics unlimited ammo and we had what the business had to rent out with a limited supply of ammo. Anyways, we had face shields that also covered our throats, i was dressed in my dads army jacket and army hat, this was outside by the way. It had a mixture of the woods, small shacks, and construction. The first battle we had I hid behind two huge blocks of concrete, which were separated by a gap in between them. So I feel i'm pretty safe, i peek around one corner, i peek around the other corner, and then i peek through the gap and when i did i got hit right in the frickin head and knocked my hat right off. I had a yellow streak right down the middle of my hair. It knocked me back a little bit. What's funny is right before I actually see the frickin paint ball coming at me but i didn't move. I think i didn't move because i thought it was going to hit the concrete, but nope it hit me. After that first battle was over the frickin little kid that shot me came up to me and said he was sorry he just had to try to see if he could get the shot to go through. I got shot more after that, but it was a blast. Adrenaline rushing entertainment.

Lost a bet several years ago and took a paintball to the chest thru a trashbag in January. It bled and hurt for a while.
