This one follows Duke/MSU at MSG. KU has gotten the best of UK recently, winning the last 3 meetings. The teams last met in the NCAA Tournament, with KU winning by 13, the last game at UK for Tubby Smith.

Thomas Robinson vs Terrence Jones might be one of the best individual match-ups of the season. Definitely looking forward to that.

Thoughts?

I have been watching UK basketball for a long time. My memory goes back to the teams of the early 70's. A couple of Pitino's teams were ridiculously talented, and we have become accustomed to talent with Callipari's teams. I watched the Morehouse exhibition and the first game vs Marist. This is the most talented team I have ever seen at Kentucky. Anthony Davis and Kidd-Ghillcrest are amazing. Wiljcher (sp?) can play inside and outside. You add the experience of Lamb, Jones, and Miller to them and they should scare the Mark May out of most everyone. Teague is a really good pg, but he has no really talented true pg behind him. That is their one weakness. Some would say they don't have a big body in the post, but I think Vargas fills that need and what Davis gives up in bulk, he makes up for with shot blocking ability. I think this team's chemistry looks outstanding.

What concerns me is that they really haven't faced anyone yet. When they face adversity, perhaps their chemistry won't be that good. Also, young teams tend to struggle away from home. Kansas will give us a peek at the answer to those questions, but I sense that this is a very special group that is going to make me really happy to be a UK fan this season.

I know Kansas has some outstanding players, but what Kentucky has is really ridiculous. We'll see if the most talented team wins.

Sorry, but it would be a HUGE upset if Kentucky losses. Kansas is not a top 20 team this year (imo).

can't decide if I want to pay $60 to sit in the 400 level at MSG for these 2 games...probably won't but damnit its tempting.

I think Kentucky takes it by 15

I am terribly envy of you, SportsAndLady. I hope you get into an unfortunate pileup involving multiple vehicles on the way to the game.

And that's an overreaction. Lol. And obviously a joke. Enjoy the games. I definitely think Duke and Michigan State will have a very good chance of going down to the wire. You will be in for a great night of hoops, especially as you get to watch your Jayhawks in the Mecca. There is nothing quite like walking into Madison Square Garden.

I think we may both be guilty of stating the obvious.

Lol..I got offered a job at MSG; accepted it..5 minutes (literally) later received an offer from my current job..called MSG back, apologized, took a verbal beating, and called Rutgers boss to say I'm in.

In the middle of the MSG interview process I got to go on the renovation transformation "tour" it was fucking awesome. I mean just unbelievable some of the plans they have for MSG. It's going to be insane. I wish I could have taken that job; just too expensive to live in the City on an entry level salary.

I wish I was still on good terms w/ their ticketing manager, I'd ask for some free tickets for sure. Instead I'll probably fork up the $50 and go play hide and seek from the hiring manager and watch me some Jayhawks bball.

Lol your talk about avoiding enemies inside of MSG the other day makes some sense now. At first I thought, "I hope this doesn't involve John Starks, because that mentally ill clown will just straight up murder you." Haha. (As a former Pacer fan (more of Reggie Miller) I can attest to how f------ insane John Starks was. Probably the greatest in-the-zone NBA three-point shooter of all-time, though, alongside Miller.)

Bill Self is 7-0 against top 5 teams at Kansas.

(Insert 'now if he could have that record against 14 seeds' joke here)

I'm looking forward to this game as a Kansas fan. This should allow a better measure of how KU will play this year following the departure of the Morris twins, etc.

This is just a one night thing right?

I feel kind of bad for KU/UK fans tonight. All they are going to talk about is Coach K the rest of the night.

Last year I said that Withey is the worst college basketball player I've ever seen play.

He looks good tonight lol

Gotta love Danny Manning
