Guess what is the same though the kids on the field. Our defense still cant stop anybody and that was the main reason for change. So no matter what you guys are saying talent does matter especially when you play other talented programs. Again the coaches do have a responsibility to teach these kids how to act under adverse conditions as i said before they spend more time with them through the year than at home, and a lot of kids dont have parents that care, even in this area. Orrville has been blessed with big time talent for many years and you guys are just coming to the realization that maybe you have average talent and the rest of the area has better talent for once. lets not bash the guys who put in all this time with the kids. Like you guys have said on here it is ONLY A FOOTBALL GAME NOT LIFE.
good post.

I can assure you it wouldnt had we already played Hillsdale, Northwestern, and Norwayne. We wouldnt compete with any of those 3. Would probably lose to Smithville and flip a coin with Waynedale. What a JOKE! We have resorted to looking at the league being too tough instead of looking in the mirror and figuring our own issues out! I know I am negative right? I am sure coach Davaults hands have to be sore from all the clapping he does in these losses. What the hell is he clapping about? Maybe he should start yelling instead of clapping...... oh wait it must be a part of those life lessons he is teaching these young men. There is a job out there for everyone i guess!
We are smaller than some of the WCAL schools now.....It's funny you bring up the top 3 teams in the league...Orrville would be right up with Hillsdale and Northwestern, Norwayne would beat us hands down....they are the hot team in Wayne county right now. The thing with the WCAL is we would compete in ALL sports and not the select few we compete in the OCC...and we would be going up against teams with the same number of kids on the sideline. The OCC has finally caught up to us and with the decreasing enrollment it only makes sense to join a league with schools our own size.

By successful, I don't mean the wealthy, yet, they support their families, teach their families and sometimes they can also have an impact on the lives of their neighbors.
I won't deny that the coaches haven't helped some, usually the very good athlete that can help them win, but life is not caught up in a football game! So please, spare us!
First off, nobody said you have to play sports to be successful.
Second, it seems like you center your life around Orrville and the fact that you don't like anything that is being done here....so please spare us, we know your act.

I coach baseball but i dont do it so I can teach kids how to tie their shoes. Its baseball! Thats what I teach! They dont spend more time with the coaches then at home that is just bull too! All these excuses are getting in the way of the real issue. The fish bleeds from the head down and looking at anyone other then the coach right now doesnt make sense. Yes he is the same coach that took teams to the playoffs but thats because he couldnt fail with all the D-1 talent he had.
This coaching staff stresses the importance of giving back to the community and teaches these young men important lessons in life....If any of these players had issues or needed to talk, I'm 100% certain all of the coaches would take the time to talk with their players and point them in the right direction. At the high school level IT IS more than just football and winning, and you have to be able to take the good with the bad. We can't control/dictate our enrollment numbers, we can't control how many division I athletes we have, and we can't control those areas with the schools on our schedule.
