Outside of the half-court shot to go into halftime, it was kind of a boring game. Neither fan base got very loud. A few claps when for a made bucket, that's it. More noise was made when both teams were complaining to the refs.
The game finally became interesting with about 2 1/2 minutes left, when Orrville had inched closer and closer and finally made it a 1-possession game. West Holmes had led the whole game but couldn't convert on free throws down the stretch, and Orrville made a few buckets and free throws here and there. There were lots of sloppy passes and messy open court transitions by both teams that made for an exciting, back-and-forth game the last few minutes. Arnold had a 3/4 court shot at the buzzer fall about 5 feet short. Winters fouled out with 3:40 to go, but Zook, Landis, and Brenner came up big for the Riders.
