Outside of the half-court shot to go into halftime, it was kind of a boring game. Neither fan base got very loud. A few claps when for a made bucket, that's it. More noise was made when both teams were complaining to the refs.

The game finally became interesting with about 2 1/2 minutes left, when Orrville had inched closer and closer and finally made it a 1-possession game. West Holmes had led the whole game but couldn't convert on free throws down the stretch, and Orrville made a few buckets and free throws here and there. There were lots of sloppy passes and messy open court transitions by both teams that made for an exciting, back-and-forth game the last few minutes. Arnold had a 3/4 court shot at the buzzer fall about 5 feet short. Winters fouled out with 3:40 to go, but Zook, Landis, and Brenner came up big for the Riders.

Zook is full-time varsity now (no more JV) and was 2nd leading scorer tonight with 11.

Nice move by Coach in bringing kids up who can contribute.

Congrats to the kids & coaches on a big win. Maybe a springboard??

I was wondering if anyone got that. That's neat. Not in a thousand shots would you make that again. Its about time our luck turned.

It was kinda funny. As soon as the shot went in and the players were heading off the floor to the locker room, an Orrville student rushed up to the older Orrville cameraman and said "I don't know what you need to do, but you have to send that in to ESPN!" (I say "older" because Tim's blog says it was a student videographer that caught it, but there's also an older gentleman who has done video for the Riders and was there last night setting it up. But I didn't see who was actually filming at the time. An understudy?)

Dylan Tanner was the one who uploaded it...he was the kicker on our football team. I've seen him filming with Mr. Fleming...either with the same camera, or a secondary camera.

It's been sent to Yahoo's Prep Rally sports blog and guessing someone will send it to ESPN....who knows if either will pick it up.

Yes it is getting sent to ESPN, they are going to title it "Bob Knights hometown hits a full-court shot" something along those lines.

I hope they don't run it on ESPN because then everyone would see the travelling! ;-). Too bad the refs were asleep at the switch. Also, I don't think it's possible to get a shot off like that with .4 left. So the timekeeper was slow on the trigger, too! Ha ha. Too bad. Great heave and W for the Riders and hopefully a turnaround to the season!

Great win last night, but I sure hope this isn't a distraction for the team...

That would be cool! I just hope they leave our record out of the discussion.

I say its a "top play" nominee!

League leading Lexington (9-1 , 4-1 ) tonight. Can we make it 2 in a row and turn things around in the 2nd half of the season? Only 2 losses were blow outs, to Hiland and Senior , I think all the rest of the games were within 8 points or less so if we might have learned from the W.Holmes game we need to finish out games strong and not dig deep holes early and have to come back. Keep our starters out of foul trouble early and see if we can play 4 quarters of team ball. Time to play hard for 4 qtrs and use everyone on the bench and keep coming after them the whole game, no let ups on defense.

Need Winters down the stretch, especially if the game is tight.

Interesting to see if the WH win gave the guys a boost of confidence.

No game tonight....

Rescheduled for next Tuesday the 24th.

Smart move, the drive up for Lex would have been fine, but the drive home will be bad if we get the snow they're talking about.

Because it would be no fun to drive home to Lexington in 4 inches of snow and still falling :p

Landis played especially well with 14pts. Forced Lex out of a zone and Winters patrolled the paint.

The first quarter was about as nice a quarter as the Riders have put together this year. Jumped out to a 17-7 lead.
