Fox didn't even try to hire UFC experts for the pregame err prematch show. Had White and Lesnar doing the commentary

Looking forward to this. I like the UFC, but never pay for it on PPV. Really interested to see what the ratings come in at in comparison to Stanford v. Oregon.

Fight lasts 1:05, now they have 20 minutes of TV time to waste.

They def needed to show more than one fight instead of streaming the whole undercard online.

I wanted something longer than one punch, lol. The actual fight was legit, I just wanted something more.

Yeah of course but with heavyweights it can end in a blink. Obviously the UFC would have wanted a longed fight but still an amazing finish.gorocks99;970051 wrote:I wanted something longer than one punch, lol. The actual fight was legit, I just wanted something more.

Hell of a punch, but not the first impression Dana White was hoping for.

Yeah they would have liked a back and forth war I think, but I think they will take the exciting finish.thedynasty1998;970063 wrote:Hell of a punch, but not the first impression Dana White was hoping for.

That was a worst case scenario for them. They won't lose fans, but the people who tuned in for the first time won't have a desire to catch the next fight.robj55;970087 wrote:Yeah they would have liked a back and forth war I think, but I think they will take the exciting finish.

I disagree, we love dramatic finishes and violence as humans and that was both, obviously they didn't get a chance to show a more diverse set of skills but overall a good premiere.thedynasty1998;970100 wrote:That was a worst case scenario for them. Should have showed the Guida/Henderson fight, which was a great back and forth battle. This is just a test run though, the 4 fights on fox next year will be full 4-5 fight main cards.

This. Coming into today, I thought it was an actual UFC card, not just one fight. I hadn't looked too much into it leading in, and I'm a pretty big UFC fan.Fab1b;970050 wrote:They def needed to show more than one fight instead of streaming the whole undercard online.
Disagree. People like KO's, and the general public doesn't care about technical fights--they want to see people get KTFO.thedynasty1998;970100 wrote:That was a worst case scenario for them. Yeah this was just more of a showcase and introduction to the UFC on FOX, the actual deal doesn't start until January.hoops23;970216 wrote:This. Coming into today, I thought it was an actual UFC card, not just one fight. I hadn't looked too much into it leading in, and I'm a pretty big UFC fan.

that was some overrated bulllshit. Nothing about that fight was cool, even the knockout was weak.robj55;970127 wrote:I disagree, we love dramatic finishes and violence as humans and that was both, obviously they didn't get a chance to show a more diverse set of skills but overall a good premiere.

Well, I better not continue to back up the UFC... I'll be accused of wanting to have Dana White's babies.

As a casual fan I will say that fight was not intriguing or make me want to watch more. I might possibly sit through the terrible pregame show again if they can find use music other than the Sunday NFL fox music.
