Just bought me a car for $4000 less than everything else similar on the internet. The car was salvaged and then repaired passed inspection....where do the attorneys or insurance come in? This car was hit in the rear, knocked off a chunk of the driver's side rear bumper and somehow the car was totaled and then salvaged. The repair shop put a new bumper on it and it's now mine. Love it.

Was this something the mechanic you hired to inspect the vehicle should have caught?

It's ok....my grammar kinda led to that.

Basically I just got a very good used car that was way cheaper than it should've been due to someone being important enough to get the accident into a totaled car. The pictures of the accident that led to the salvaging are funny.

Salvage title vehicles can be bought for very good prices but Insurance companies will not give full coverage on them and they are very difficult to resale because many banks will not loan money on them either.

Our first bank said they won't deal with them but the 2nd bank we tried said the place that did the work was highly respected and did the best work around and gave us a 4.9% (said they could've went 3.84% if not the salvaged rebuild title)

As for the resale....I've had 3 other Honda Civics and an Accord and the mileages I ended with on those cars were 284,000 (sold in under a week for $1200) 174,000 ( was last seen at 97,000 miles at a recycle center on the CarFax and still sold for $3,000 in one day) 166,000 and 124,000 (totaled in your county hitting a black angus cow)

Needless to say.....I'll drive it for an extremely long amount of time....resale doesn't bother me.

Yeah the only thing really bad is resale so your good there. The downside is most places repair car with cheap parts that are not the same as the orginal and more likly to have problems in the future.
