Rarely do you find a team w/ a lot of upperclassman in the starting lineup. Now a days, experience isn't by what year you're in, but your bolded part--how much have they played.

Buford, Sullinger, Craft...all huge contributors on last season's team..they could have those 3 guys and the rest freshman, and I'd still consider them an experienced team.

Sorry, just b/c you're bench players (a rarity last year) are young and your backup PG is nonexistent doesn't make you young.

Agree to disagree. Teams with JRs and SRs will always be more prepared to play on the road. Talent will almost always outweigh it, but its still something I believe in. This team, as it currently stands, is better than last years talent wise, imo. But last years team that went into FLA and dominated had 3 major contributors as JR/SR. I think if this team had to play on the road @FLA they might lose or at least be in a nailbiter.

Just because you dont find a team with a lot of JR/SR starting (which I think is a gross overstatement, more teams have them than dont, just that they might not be the top player on the given team) doesnt mean they wouldnt be better off with some older players.

I see both of your points. Its so rare to see an AA and national freshman of the year come back to school lately, we don't really know how to fairly judge his talent-experience combination.

Hard to think of many...Hansbrough, TJ Ford?

Durant, Beasley, Rose, Marvin Williams, Deng, Wall all went pro

WILL WILL BUFORD BREAK SCOTTY HOPSON'S SCORING RECORD?!

I realize that I probably shouldn't have prefaced that question earlier by saying, "I regret that Ohio State even exists," but I would like to know what Buckeye fans think on the matter. Buford is about 650 points out, so he'd probably have to average about 18 per for 32, 33 games. Anyone think he'll do it? It would be interesting to see a Libbey kid do it, especially since the school no longer exists. It would be kind of a definitive exclamation point for the once great basketball school.

650/32=20.3???

20 is tough with Sullinger also on the team. If he shoots 45% from 3 again, he likely will do it because of the departure of Diebler and Lighty.

I'd say its around 50-50 if there are 32 games. If they play 37 (and needs 17.5/gm) like last year I think he does it.

I like Big Buford. He destroyed us in HS once. Put on quite a show, and we were pretty solid that year.

Game was back and forth, then all of a sudden he just took the fuck over in the 4th quarter. Alley-oops, tosses off the backboard. It was pretty much ridiculous.

Yeah, I am underwhelming when it comes to math and opening up the calculator tool sounded overwhelming.

I agree with your position, though. I personally think Ohio State will be in the Final Four, so Buford will have an excellent shot at significantly rewriting the Ohio State record book.

Oddly enough for someone with a chance at the school scoring record, Buford has not led the Buckeyes in scoring for a season.

Hitting my 1st ever Buckeyes Basketball game tomorrow night. Been to plenty of football games and wrestling matches....but this is my 1st Basketball game. Any tips you can give me? Time to arrive? Will there be a white out? red (scarlettt out?) anything of that nature?

Regular seats im guessing...a friend got the tix...$50 a piece. Thats all I know...

we are 40 and long out of school. lol Though I did attend tOSU in the early 90's

Gotcha. Well students get there hours earlier because their tickets are general admission. If you have regular seats and are driving, traffic and parking can be a pain if you don't get there early enough (A good hour). I believe you have to have a pass for the good lots, but I haven't driven to a game in years because I just graduated so maybe someone can fill you in better on parking.

I don't know of any "color-out", the Nuthouse student section has a uniform they wear with grey shirts and red pants.

Beer is only served at club level, don't know if you're too old for that too!

Beer at club level is a good thing to know!!!

We are about an hour and a half away..leaving about 4-4:30...plenty of time...prob stopping at Eddie's for a bite. What time do doors open for the public?

Yeah. If the tickets say Student Ticket--ID required, well then you need two BuckIDs. If your buddy's nephew is a student at OSU and got them through OSU they will.

I want to say doors open 90 minutes before? Memory is failing me on that one.

shitty thing is me attending there during the JJ, Funderburke era...and never attended...only football and wrestling then...20 years later...still the same. Last lived at 2311 neil...lol got healthy selling parking in the back yard on gamedays

Dave O'Brien and Dan Dakich will be calling the game for ESPN tonight. I set the over/under at 9.5 for minutes it will take Dakich to tell the story of recruiting JJ Sullinger and noticing Jared. I think before the start of last season he worked it in his contract with the WWL that he be allowed to tell the story once a game.

BTW, when did Scotty Hopson play for OSU?

Don't know how many ppl use it but I always get off onto lane from 315 and take the first right(most traffic goes left towards the Jessie Owens track). But if you turn right and then take the next right into a parking lot, it's free parking. Then just a short walk to the Schott. Have a great time!!! I'll be watching with a homo(gator fan) here on base. Gooooo bucks!!

I'm not sure if there is any free parking left on campus at all. You used to be able to park for free in certain lots after a certain time (I know that isn't specific) but now they have pay to park machines everywhere. :mad:

That lot that was mentioned above, is in fact free parknig. If you go a bit further, go left on Woody Hayes, just to the right you can park for free as well.
