Bowling Green once had a basketball player that had the first name of Wavy, last name Junior. Wavy Junior.

Seriously? Why would you jump to a rash conclusion such as crystal meth? Since the majority of these sorts of kids are of African American descent and originate from impoverished inner-city neighborhoods such as New York City, Chicago, Miami or Atlanta, the much more likely trigger for these ill-conceived names is the more affordable and readily street-available stimulant freebase crack cocaine.

remember there was a time when the names John, Jack, and Sally were odd and ill-conceived.

Not saying the name Jakarr will catch on, but if Sampson has any kind of basketball success the name will likely continue.

I think anymore unique names are encouraging because after studying European history there are too many John's, Charles', Walter's to keep up. Hell even Barack is an obscure enough name it is easy to remember.

Lol. Ah, an excellent tale about a manic sperm whale. I can honestly say I had not been reading that, but a 300 to 500-word Herman Melville sentence sounds intriguing for a future post. Maybe later in the winter when I'm writing one of my annual why J.J. Redick is my hero essays.

I highly doubt it. That's an urban legend that's been around for about 15 years. There's no way there are that many Oranjellos in the world.
