What are you looking for? Upscale? Pub? True short north experience? Date?
One of my favorite restaurants is Betty's. Small though, but great food. Sushi Rock is also good if you're into that type of thing.
Bar-wise, I've tagged along to Bar 23 a few times, porch is nice in the summer to get a drink and have a cigar, dunno how good it would be now that its colder.
My girlfriend lives on 1st, so I'm more familiar with the southern portion of Short North.

I was there tonight. Macs for Happy Hr has half off apps from I think 3-8. Scottish Eggs there are great. Fried green beans w teriyaki dip were decent. Next door same owner is a Chicago pizza place; haven't had it yet but there's a metered lot connect to the building to the north for parking. LEVEL is across the street next to two other good spots; forget their names.

Upscale? "Eleven" for happy hour (next to Hyde Park)
or Bar 23, La Fogata (sp?), Harrison's on Third, Hubbard Grille (kinda pricey I've heard)

Dinner I'd say Marcello's. Bar, just go to Park St.

Bodega is always a great choice. Exceptional beer selection, really good food, and nice atmosphere. Only problem is there isn't a lot of seating.

Went to Bar 23 once. Didn't really like it there though seemed kind of like an uptight atmosphere. Maybe it was just the group that was there at the time. Or maybe I'm just used to the OU bar scene.

Just a heads up if others don't know, Union is a gay bar.Tobias Fünke;962801 wrote:Axis or Union.
