My granddaughter came over and we where talking. She mentioned that she played a game where people throw playground balls at each other. She called is something ( whimp name) but in my day it is BATTLE BALL….. mofo 
Oh! She was tell me the rules …WTF to many rules </SPAN>

Ball hit ball and ball is in your hands … not out</SPAN>
Ball hit ball and knock ball out of hands … you’re out</SPAN>
Get hit with ball in flight (bounce does not count)… you’re out</SPAN>

Don’t cross the center line or you’ll be out</SPAN>
When you’ll out you sit on the side lines … sit mofo </SPAN>

Yeah back in my day we called it Dodgeball. They took it out of schools I thought.
And there are some leagues I watch them all the time on ESPN8 "The Ocho."

We called it battleball in elementary school too....
We even had a 'medic' in gym class, but I don't remember how that worked...something to do with a little 2' x 2' piece of wood on wheels...I don't remember the details, some way to get someone back into the game that was eliminated...

Haha we played that in elementary school but just call it doctor dodgeball. There would be mats set up and the "medic" could hide behind them and then when someone got out if they got to them before getting hit the person was still in. We called that dodgeball.
Did anyone ever play Swedish Dodgeball, or at least thats what we called it. There were no teams and it was every person for themselves. When you got the ball you were only allowed to take three steps before you threw it. When someone went out (normal dodgeball rules) every person they knocked out came back in.

Funny how they change names of the games. Nephews and the neighbor kids were talking about how they were going to play 'ding dong ditch'. I couldnt figure out for the life of me what they were doing. Took me till the next time they did it to know it was actually called something else when we did it!
Then they played smear the *****...and was happy to see that some games names remained the same!

Brother was on an adult dodgeball league out in San Diego area a few years ago. Said it was pretty kick ass.
