Hope this is true. Once I knew he wasn't coming to Carolina, I definitely didn't want him at Duke.

He fits better at Michigan than Duke. I am would prefer not to have another Josh McRoberts.

Watching both play in HS, they dont seem to be all that similar. McGary runs the floor and really prefers to be down low and a banger. He is also a much better rebounder than McRoberts. Josh was a very solid player, but his skill set was so much more 6-6 than 6-10. McGarys skill set is very much that of 6-10.swamisez;954110 wrote:He fits better at Michigan than Duke. Then again, I have only seen Mitch play 1 time since he went to Prep school. This is based off his JR and SR years in HS, he has improved though is not the #3 player in the class imo. Probably closer to 15-20.

Well, I cant and wont find anything since he is going to announce Thursday and obviously he isnt gonna confirm anything. But rumors are flying, from very good sources. But nothing will be in print till he says it publicly.vball10set;953710 wrote:^^please post it when you find it--I heard we was wating until after Christmas to announce

The weekend I saw McGary he was facing up constantly from 15-18. Often took off balance runners, and sought backside rebounds instead of banging. Maybe he was showcasing other skills when I saw him, I don't know? My feeling was that he was more of a small forward in a power forward body.
Of course my sample size was quite small.

I'd definitely wait until tomorrow at 5 to get too excited yet. This will be (hopefully) huge for Michigan basketball.Trueblue23;954235 wrote:Duke, Michigan and Florida boards are saying he's headed to Ann Arbor

I mean, I wouldnt be surprised. Indiana basketball in general is pretty physical game, and then he went to Prep school. I wouldnt doubt in the least he transformed his game and showed more skills. Personally, it would benefit him in the long run to be a banger with an outside game than the other way around, but I dunno. Kevin Pittsnogle and the other dude on WVU that one year killed it as bigs on the outside.swamisez;954288 wrote:The weekend I saw McGary he was facing up constantly from 15-18. If he does go finesse, you are right, he and McRoberts will be very similar.

Great day for Michigan basketball. Glad he chose Michigan. Otherwise, I would have blamed Laley for jinxing it.

Great job recruiting by Michigan. McGary says he wants to build something at Michigan so if he is in that frame of mind, then he picked the right situation for him.
