Farrell says Neal tried to commit and wasn't allowed to. I hope this was Meyer not allowing a high school kid to try to hold him hostage by waiting.

Biggins just said in a chat that he is sitting across from Neal right now, and he didn't try to commit and hasn't talked to Meyer at all today.

Greg Biggins. West Coast recruiting guy from ESPN. He is wrong more than he is right but I do think Neal was supposed to be in a chat. ESPN was doing a little documentary on him today I think.

Not at all saying this isn't true, but it's not like Neal would say, "yea, I tried to commit to Ohio State, but they didn't want me anymore".

Damn I have no clue on Biggins now, apparently he decommited from ESPN and faxed in his LOI to join Scout a little bit ago.

I agree completely. Just passing along what I've seen. Most of these guys are just trying to get their followers up or hits on their websites.

I'm wondering if Meyer slipping up mentioning Neals name in an interview early today (pretty sure that's a violation somehow w/o LOI) has anything to do with it?

Meyer wouldn't get in trouble for slipping and mistakenly mentioning a recruits name, but it's possible that something had happened with Neal, and that's why his name was on his mind.

Any other time and under normal circumstances I would easily discount the possibility as well, now not so much though. The microscope isn't going away for awhile. I still think it's a possibility.

I don't think saying "Neal" (a first or last name of anyone) is enforceable vs saying "Devonte Neal"

Probably not but when Urban says we have 81 meaning we have one spot left for two similar position type guys why take the chance? Just eliminate one from contention.

Assuming Diggs wants in, I would tell Neal sorry as well. Unless he knows there is another spot.

Pretty fluid situation, has been tweeted that it's a falsehood that Neal was set to sign and denied so could be a lot of bs at this point anyway.

Both top 10 WR. Most have Diggs slightly higher.

Most sites have Diggs higher fwiw. Both are explosive as hell, Diggs is a little bigger though and Neal may still be a CB.
